Anyone catch this answer in Jay Johnson's postgame comments?

He refers to a "very odd situation" where Tenn knew what pitch was coming that resulted in that 2nd RBI?

Sounds like Evans was tipping his pitches.

Jay said something like we were able to get that fixed.

Guess that’s what Jay addressed in the mound visit in the 1st.

I caught that too watching the postgame. Was Evans tipping or something to do with Hernandez setup? Since the signs aren't flashed anymore, I wonder what it was. Especially for Jay to call it "odd."

I thought maybe he was tipping but the way Jay described it as "an odd situation" makes me think maybe it was something else

like pitchcomm going to Tenn or something

That might explain it but don’t think CJJ would call that an “odd situation.” I wondered what that was about while watching, too.

I thought about that too but I don't know if it's possible. Maybe it is?

And if memory serves, after the mound visit, Evans threw a pitch and then Milam called time and he and Hernandez met at the mound with Evans. I thought that was strange when it happened.

They sure were barreling balls up in that 1st like they knew what was coming so would explain it.

Johnson and Milam both visited the mound in the 1st so I guess Evans was tipping pitches.

They clearly knew when fastballs were coming early

I thought something was up when Milam called time, insisted the catcher come to the mound, and Evans, Hernandez and Milam went over things. Milam must have seen something that Tenn was doing. After that we mowed ‘em down.

Man I know 1st innings are tough for any pitcher but they were barreling up everything Evans was throwing.

2nd inning and on they couldn't bunt the ball if they wanted to. I thought it was odd as well.

He was tipping his pitches from all indications based on the Milam and Johnson visits.

Gotta love it when the shortstop is also a gamer and team leader. Love that kid, Milam!
