Why is it clown talk? Is the football team out there saluting the flag or not? If the answer is no, why do they hate America?

He won't apologize, but maybe he will see how politically counterproductive it is to get involved in something like this and think twice before doing it again.

What a moronic comment.

I guess you didn't know that 6 other teams at the Elite 8 weren't on the court for the anthem as they too were running through their logistical, team schedule.

I would rather have him than JBE but this is what happens when your Governor made his past career in focusing entirely on superficial red meat issues. He thinks people actually care enough about this for him to make a dumb statement about it.

LSU football isn’t on the field while the band plays the national anthem and no one cares because that’s how it’s always been.

EXACTLY!

This is completely on-brand for Landry. He's a moron. He's better than JBE for sure. But still a moron. That's why his tenure will be highlighted by a bunch of red-meat social issue "wins"...but little in the way of actually improving Louisiana's economy/business climate.

Would you like to see the players have enough respect for the ONE country that allows them the opportunity to gain such exposure and financial benefit for simply playing basketball? Sure. But if they choose to remain in the locker room during the playing of the national anthem, so be it. They aren't at a Memorial Day celebration. It has (or should have) little impact on the actual event. Certainly not enough to have the bozo Governor unnecessarily interject himself.

Even at that, I hardly doubt the players make the pregame routine.

jesus christ you still don't get it. This isn't a protest

Do you actually believe all these basketball teams are protesting the anthem? or every Sec and most other cfb teams are protesting the anthem because they aren't out there?

Politicians, specifically, REPUBLICAN politicians are the worst.

Republicans are great at latching on to things like this, yet when it comes to fighting the actual issues that face the country, they are too scared to speak out on anything else. Forget the fact many are already bought off.

Landry has yet to fight any of the entities that are taking the state to the bottom. As a republican, he won't ever have the balls to approach them and address them....yet he will talk about this.

fricking buffoon. I hate politicians so much.

What’s pathetic is that you and Landry are so consumed with what right wing idiots post on X that you cannot see that this was no protest no they were following a pregame schedule that has been in place for decades. You are the stupid one in this case.

Sounds like that was purely a coincidence since this is such a common practice. But people with agendas jumped on it and those who are especially gullible lapped it up with a spoon. That doesn’t mean we have to put our brains in a jar and buy into it too.

As other posters noted it's unreasonable to expect he'll apologize for his idiotic remarks (and will there be some attempt at a bill? think that's just political posturing but unsure who he thinks he'd win over)

But if y'all have Twitter/X accounts by all means go blow fire at him
