I can’t imagine a good case can be made for Kling over Larson at this point.

Like i said weeks ago, they really do not have many prototypical leadoff type guys. Larson should be hitting in the middle of the order, not leadoff.

Kling’s performance doesn’t suggest he’s a prototypical leadoff hitter either though, even if the tools say otherwise.

Never said he was. He K’s way too much.

He is there by default. He gets on base enough to justify it, and has had some batted ball bad luck.

Idk someone has to bat lead off and it just can’t be Kling right now. I’ve got little problem with him in the lineup altogether, but you can’t get on base less than 30% of the time in conference play and stay in the 1 hole IMO.

Either way we’re probably looking at Milazzo/Kling or Kling/Milazzo whether he’s at the 1 or the 8.

Kling’s OBP over the last 3 conference series was .390 coming into tonight

He’s been a much more competent hitter over last month, in & out of conference

I root for Kling the same way I root for Hurd in that I can see the ceiling and know they’re instrumental if this team has a chance, but man Kling doesn’t make it easy.

He watches too many good pitches. He’s always down to 2 strikes, and some hitters can hit that way, but that’s not his game. It impacts his BB total in a positive manner, but also his K’s.

With his speed he should be aggressively swinging & trying to put the ball in play. He’s taken baby steps in attempting the swing change he’s going through right now

His OBP in this series is now .142 and for SEC YTD is .291. Please explain how that is leadoff material.....or even material to hit in any spot in the order

Jay pinch hit for Kling in the 9th because he doesn't even believe he can get his bat on the ball to bunt. Explain that one?

I’d ride or die with Kling. He’s is going to be a damn good player.

Agreed.

But you have GOT to drop him to 8 or 9 in the batting order.

Actually he needs to be completely out of the order.

I know many people here love to shite on Kling, but he's improved a lot this month. If posters are going to complain about every at-bat, then they should at least be informed.

I watch every game so I’m def “informed”. Il shite on Kling until he turns it around. He can’t hit.

I hope he turns it around. The team will benefit huge from it.

I really like klings swing. But you can’t convince me there isn’t something going on with his vision. He should be drilling the ball but instead he’s being fooled way too easily.

Lester you and LSUfball19 keep posting that the most relevant stats are the most recent ones. You have both posted that numerous times. So if you both really believe that I think you would have to agree that the most recent stats would be the last 2 games vs Auburn. So.....why don't you go ahead and post Klings stats for last 2 games? After all they are the most relevant aren't they?

Dear lord Rudy…the most impressive thing about you is the fact that you have made it far enough in life that you learned to put a sentence together.

Players are allowed to improve and what Lester is saying is factual. Has he had a bad series so far? Yes. But over the last few series he is trending upwards.

The best thing for Kling at this point is to get more experience, look to improve in summer ball, and come back for his money year. Just let it go.

Actually Fredbull in 2 years the one thing that Kling has proved is he can't hit SEC pitching. The best thing for him is transfer to a Southeastern level school where he may be able to handle that level of pitching.

I find it funny that Lester and now you say that most recent stats are most relevant except of course when the most recent ones don't support your ingrained position. Can you say hypocrite?
