He is the most missed from last years team.

I think Yeskie is fine, but unfortunately these guys have had a new pitching coach every year.

Interesting comment. I have been wondering about this also.

Yes but pitching is so technical. When coaches try to implement their development tools on a pitcher, it always creates a learning curve. Hopefully Yeskie is able to iron these out over the next month, but it takes time.

Do you realize our pitching outside of Skenes was up and down the entire regular season last year?

Yep, a lot of amnesia going around. Floyd's ERA was inflated...believe it was like 5 or so going into postseason. Hurd's was around 7 I believe. And people used to shudder when most relief pitchers had to be used. But in post-season it all came together. Don't expect the same miracle as last season but other than Skenes the LSU staff ERA was not very good. As I remember, I calculated Skenes very low ERA bringing down the team ERA by a full run.

It’s like everyone forgot how bad our bullpen was after Shores and Edwards got hurt. Also, can anyone name our Sunday starter last year?

Was told something this week you guys may find interesting…According to DVH, they were able to pattern each starting pitcher for LSU last weekend. They’d verify the pattern of pitch calls over the first 2-3 innings to make sure they were correct, then let the batters know what to expect.

Not sure who calls you guys’ pitches, but on certain batters of ours they throw the same pitch call pattern each at bat.

You’re right, but his point is valid. It’s like giving someone advice in their golf swing. Always f’s it up before it gets better

Much later than this point, actually.

Bro we had the same shitastic pitching staff last year for 80% of the year outside of Skenes.

Yeskies problem is he can’t call a game. Dude rolls guys out there and throws nine off speed pitches in a row and expects the other team not to hit.

Also, until we stop running guys out there that aren’t SEC pitchers then we’re going to continue to struggle. Little should never see the field again unless we are up 17 runs.
