Current Team

LSU faces off against Tennessee in a match up of teams looking to right their respective ships and secure a top 8 national seed. This is the biggest series in the SEC this weekend, no matter what the Big 12 refugees would like you to believe. The SEC is better with 12 teams.

Pros

Majors

Today’s starting pitchers

Paul Skenes (Pirates) vs Dodgers

Yesterday’s starting pitchers

None

Yesterday’s relievers

Jaden Hill (Rockies) – 1.1 IP, 2 BB, 4 K 0 H, 0 R
Cole Henry (Nationals) – 2 IP, BB, 4 K, HBP, 0 H, 0 R

Yesterday’s position players

Alex Bregman (Red Sox) – 2 for 3, HR, 2 RBI, BB
Dylan Crews (Nationals) – 0 for 3, 1K, snaps 8 game hitting streak
Josh Smith (Rangers) – 0 for 4, BB

Minors

Today’s starting pitchers

Blake Money (BAL High A) – Aberdeen IronBirds – vs Gavin Dugas’ Wilmington Blue Rocks
Gage Jump (ATH High A) – Lansing Lugnuts vs Fort Wayne Tin Caps

Yesterday’s starting pitchers

Griffin Herring (NYY Single A) – 7 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 6 K

Yesterday’s relievers

Paul Gervase (TBR AAA) – 1 IP, 1 K, 0 H, 0 R
Cam Sanders (PIT AA) – 1 IP, BB, 2 K, Save (6th save of season)
Nate Ackenhausen (KCR High A) – 1.1 IP, 4 K

Yesterday’s position players

Tre Morgan (TBR AAA) – Game1 – 0 for 3, 3 K ; Game 2 – 1 for 4, 2B, R, 2 RBI, K
Hunter Feduccia (LAD AAA) – 2 for 4, 2 2B, R, 3 RBI, BB, K
Tommy White (ATH High A) – 2 for 5, 2B, 9 game hitting streak
Jordan Thompson (LAD High A) – 0 for 2, SF, RBI, BB, K, snaps 4 game hit streak
Brayden Jobert (STL High A) – 0 for 3, 2 K

Griffin Herring is shoving in Low A. But he's supposed to. Griffin and Ty Floyd should probably be promoted soon. Floyd's situation is a little different as they're working him back from injury. They're currently facing a bunch of international free agents playing their first or second season in the states, or high school draft picks from last year. They're more developed and more polished than the guys they're facing and will need to be challenged soon to continue to develop.

As said yesterday, Thatcher Hurd is out for the season. Luke Holman and Bryce Collins are also on the IL, but I don't know when they're expected to return. Daniel Cabrera is on the minor league restricted list, not sure of his status for this season.

I know this may be asking a lot. But can we get the Tennessee series preview to return.... Maybe... Possibly.... Pretty pretty please?

I think I exhausted all my creativity in 2023.

But all of these different things that I do are just extensions of things I'm already doing to satisfy my own curiosity.

I don't read up as much on the opponents anymore. I've been more focused on pro baseball since I got the MLB TV package. This thread is an extension of me looking up minor league pitching probables to plan what games I'll have on distracting me throughout the day.

Games of interest this weekend:

Oklahoma vs Georgia - Oklahoma took game 1 and they play today at like noon for some reason. It's good for us if Oklahoma wins because we don't play Georgia so there is a positive RPI boost from our sweep of Oklahoma. Also, Wes Johnson is a chump with an oversized melon-head.

Arkansas vs Florida - We don't play Florida and Sully's weirdly short arms. And as much as we all hate Arkansas, watching Florida implode is fun for all. I also don't think the SEC should get a crazy number of teams in the tournament, so I want the bad teams to keep losing and take themselves out of consideration.

Xavier vs Georgetown - We want all the teams we've played in the non conference to win. It makes us look better. Xavier is a bubble team in the Big East right now. They played a brutal non conference schedule and are third in their league right now. They need to sweep the Hoyas, who currently sit in last place.

Oklahoma-Georgia looks like it’s going to come down to the wire today. Oklahoma has come back to make it 10-9 Georgia. One out in the top of the 9th for Oklahoma to keep it alive.

Blake Money just went 5.1 innings. 4 hits, 2 runs, 7 Ks, no walks.

Riley Cooper was brought in to relieve him.

Money has pitched very well so far this year.
