That's a big drop for Alabama after their weekend series loss to LSU. #15 to 24.

That’s a big drop considering their RPI is ranked #9.

these silly rankings don't matter. The only "ranking" that matters is the selection committee's at the end of the year, which will decide what regional we go to, and if we get to host.

Ignore all the other nonsense.

You don't think these rankings will influence the final selection committee's rankings?

#7 in D1Baseball. They only have 4 SEC teams in the top 8 which is a joke but why id say we want to finish top 4 in the SEC to lock in a top 8 national seed

I think i said before the season that the diaspora of good, top quality SEC is so vast this year that 18 wins should get you a top 8 seed. I wouldnt be shocked if 17 ends up being possible

17-13 with a 25-1 non-conference record might have the RPI high enough to get a national seed. Georgia did it last year, was the 7th overall seed.

Two problems with only 17 SEC wins:
1 - 17 wins means LSU finishes the SEC slate 5-7 (or 5-8 including Saturday’s L).
2 - The Committee doesn’t want more than 4 SEC in the top 8, so LSU would be fighting Vandy, UGA, and Auburn for that 4th spot.

I don’t see LSU being left out with 18 SEC wins. With 18, LSU should be top 4 in SEC, and I think SEC gets 4 top 8 seeds.

This logic is fine before April, but now the rankings, though not exact, can be considered a rough proxy for how the pundits (including the committee) perceive you
