LSU Football Depth Chart (Jersey Number Update) [1 image]

Notes:
• Incoming players are placed at the bottom of the Depth Chart at their respective positions but ahead of walk-ons.
• A few walk-ons could, nevertheless, compete for a bit of playing time, including: GiVanni Peterson (TE), Javen Nicholas (WR), Preston Hickey (DT), and Princeton Malbrue (LB).
What to Watch For:
• Who will wear #4 on Offense, CJ Daniels or John Emery?
• Kimo Makane'ole is still at DT as far as we know, but it would be logical to move him back to RG.
Position Changes:
• Ju'Juan Johnson moved from CB to Safety. I predict a move to STAR because there are only two other players at that position.
• Michael Turner moved from WR to CB.

And the numbers are there.
-19 dbs.
-10 interior DL if you count Hickey and Shand.
-7 lb for two positions.
Just need some guys to break out before soon.

Does this say that the Backup RG/IOL is 2nd team DL?

We need to move Kimo back to OL, we've got no depth with experience and hardly any with even a couple years in the program..... We need some back ups that have at least been in the program.

2025 is going to make you smile.
There are some good IOL.

Who are you talking about?

- DT Hickey will definitely get a shot or meaningful reps
- TE Peterson I doubt he see any meaning reps TE room is loaded. Incoming Freshman Green can be a matchup nightmare.
- WR Nicholas same doubt he sees anything but special teams with TE Peterson
- LB Malbrue would love to see might get some PT but Weeks will probably eat into those reps.

Our secondary is definitely suspect
Ryan, Gilbert, Burns
If Alexander comes back healthy and some transfer steps up we might be fine but if we are counting on a Woodland(true freshman at 160lbs ) to start Opposite Day one we maybe in trouble.
Also hoping some of the young safeties and linebackers can contribute this year.
Offense should be really good too

Not saying much but Zy was our best player in the secondary before he went down but he was average I would say. Gilbert is a proven starter in the SEC. That is a solid safety. I agree with Ryan he just hasn’t been good. Burns needs to gain weight and strength although it may be a lost cause at this point because he’s looks the same physically throughout his whole career.

I want Burns to make a major leap myself but if his play is same as last year the staff needs to give younger players a chance.

Absolutely, looks like it'll end up as our best o line class ever. I bet Brad ends up with 4 top 100 guys, I'm more speaking to the possibility that an IOL gets injured this year. At least Kimo has been in the program multiple years.

These are all walk-ons.
