Posting this since many people will be in town for LSU/Tennessee and figured this can be useful for anyone wanting to watch on campus.
Apparently there is going to be a few minutes of students doing a 50m run at 1:50pm

Man, I've been defending Shaver for years but it's time he hangs it up. Our falloff this season for both men and women has been ridiculous.
First call needs to be Petros Kyprianou. No idea why he left Georgia but completely dominated there and has made Illinois of all programs a competitor. We don't have Arkansas or Oregon resources but he beats them anyway.

when you have $0 in NIL funding and your AD tells the coaching staff to find ways to raise money themselves without hiring a fundraiser, this will happen

I was afraid of that, but my mind is more blown that other schools besides Arkansas and Oregon even have NIl for track? My defense for Shaver has always been that we are a top 8 program with top 20 resources, but I feel like other programs with less resources have passed us.
Arkansas' NIL in other sports besides basketball is pretty damn weak. Do they really have a war chest for track and field? Does anyone have a war chest in track?
I just think it's clear other coaches are doing way more with less than Shaver at this point.

Men's 4x100m just ran 38.98s for 1st, and they have a seasonal best of 38.77s from last week that is #5 in the East.

It comes down to what schools are willing to care about. LSU will put money into gymnastics and WBB because they know they have a better shot at winning titles in that. T&F is incredibly difficult to put together a championship.

The winning team several years ago had a ton of LA kids on it. We need to recruit track like we do football. I'm tired of seeing 28 year old Kenyans and people from other countries. We have a 20 foot female jumper going to USC when LSU is 30 minutes away. I hate seeing kids go out of state when recruiting internationals is t bringing titles.
