Keeping an eye on Gage Jump tonight.

Looking to confirm that he is the hardest throwing LHP at LSU, potentially, ever.

Also said to have 4 pitches that he will throw. Going to see exactly how he mixes it up and the quality of those pitches.

K on Debarge 85.3 slider (2374 rpm)

there are many type of sliders being thrown these days.

This look like what would be called a gyron slider. Thrown harder, less spin/movement,

This pitcher for USL is going to give us fits. His fastball couldn’t break glass.

He probably isn't the hardest throwing lefty on this team. But he is absolutely legit. If Hurd gets his shite together we have 3 legit Friday night SEC guys.

Jump's velo started to dip a bit in the 5th. Great outing.

That defensive play by Braswell looked really unathletic.

his 4 seam and sinker are the same pitch

When it gets to 10+ inches of horizontal break, they classify it as a sinker.

The 4 seam fastballs are all most 9" of break. Right under that threshold.

No disrespect to Holman at all, but Jump is the ace of this staff once the handcuffs get taken off.

He’s so rare & im not sure people realize it yet.

His pitches in some variation have spin & shape similar to certain pitches that guys like Blake snell, Chris sale (2017 version), and Clayton kershaw (2016 version) throw, for instance.

His velocity alone as a starter makes him super rare

Ehh we’ll see. I thought he struggled to get to his spots and got away with overpowering guys most of the game.

Both will be great though.

I like Holman on Friday due to his experience doing it in the SEC, but I wouldn't mind Jump being moved to Friday.

I'm really curious to see who starts tomorrow (Hurd or Coleman). Anybody know yet?

Yep. The one inning from him in week 1 was absolutely electric. Week 2 was not as much, but it was clear that part of his ramp up was slightly extending, but 90% fastball. I wish we could see those stat cast numbers, because I thought he was 100% fastball. There were no gloves on today, just on the strict 75 pitch count. He was phenomenal throughout the outing.

JJ keeps that shite under wraps. It should be Hurd though. And Coleman moves to midweek starter.
