LSU’s schedule looking very manageable

Ark and ou looked good. Definitely a good shot at a great year. Just take game 1 tomorrow.

Ark played a high school team

4 losses. Not counting bowl game.

I wouldn’t go that far. We got a good home/away spread given the teams on our schedule but our schedule isn’t as easy as folks are making it out to be. In fact we play a harder schedule than most of the other teams expected to compete for the SEC.

-LSU currently has 5 ranked teams on the schedule (3 home, 1 away, 1 neutral site). We also play two P4 OOC opponents while all the other ranked SEC teams except UGA only play one.
-Texas has 4 ranked teams scheduled (1 home, 2 away, 1 neutral site).
-Texas A&M has 4 (all at home).
-Tennessee has 4 (1 home, 2 away, 1 neutral site).
-Missouri has 3 (1 home, 2 away).
-Ole Miss has 3 (2 home, 1 away).

OTOH, it could certainly be worse. Oklahoma has 6 ranked teams on their schedule currently (2 home, 3 away, 1 neutral site), and they are all SEC games. OU’s schedule is brutal.

Looking at the 9 SEC teams who are currently ranked, I would say the only ones who have more difficult schedules than LSU are UGA and Oklahoma. Alabama’s schedule is comparable to LSU’s. I would say the other 5 have easier schedules.

I don’t really understand why people seem to think our schedule is easy this year.

That I agree with, assuming UCLA doesn’t have a crazy turnaround. It’ll also give the defense 6 more weeks (including a bye before OM) to coalesce under the new scheme/coaching, which I think will be important.

I’ll wait to see what we look like tomorrow!
