Any suggestions for tailgating at Missouri? It looks like all the parking is in garages and the RV lot is sold out.

Well if you are going atleast 10mph above the speed limit you won't have to worry about it.

I lived in Columbia for 5 yrs and there aren’t great options for tailgating for the visiting team. If you don’t have a parking pass, really the only public parking tailgating for larger parties will be at Truman’s Landing. That appears to now be a public RV lot. Not sure if you can reserve a spot or if it’s first come/first served.
The best option to get out quick is to park on the shoulder of Stadium or Providence. Some tailgate in the grass off the shoulder.
The best option in COMO as they call it, is to park near downtown and enjoy different spots in downtown prior to kickoff.
Flat Branch, Harpo’s, The Fieldhouse and Shiloh were some of the notable places I recall. Shiloh was a big alumni bar. Downtown is north of campus and the stadium in south, so you can stroll through campus on the way to the stadium.

thank you for the detailed response. Truman's is an RV lot now and I didn't get my request in early enough.

I'm staying at the Hampton Inn on East Stadium Drive near the stadium. Maps show Stadium Grill next door. Is that a decent place to eat and tailgate before the game?
Please post some good restaurant recommendations. We're arriving on Thursday to check out the campus and to eat/drink.

Goose, Stadium Grill opened when I lived there and it’s what you’d expect from a restaurant in a Hampton. Only tried it once, not worth a second trip.
D Rowe’s is a local spot that’s decent. It’s owned by a former Mizzou player, but honestly, good for COMO, but probably not on par with options in South Louisiana. D Rowe’s, Murry’s and Flat Branch were my favorite casual spots.
A few nicer spots are Sycamore, Chris McD’s and CC’s Broiler. The locals think Shakespeare’s is the best pizza on the planet, but I wasn’t impressed. The crust was chewy and over-cooked to me, but it gets a lot of hype. It has 3 locations…one downtown, right off campus, one south and one on the west side.
Shakespeare’s was voted as the best college pizza on Portnoy’s Onebite app. Here’s his review… YouTube Portnoy Review
I enjoyed CJ’s downtown for wings. Kind of a dive, similar to like an Ivar’s in BR.

Downtown area flows into campus. To tailgate you have to have an annual parking pass which is hard to get even if you are a season ticket holder. As a visitor it is probably best to just park downtown and just enjoy the downtown area and make your way to the stadium and mix in with the die hard mizzou fans in the reserved parking lots. They just opened up a walkons in columbia but it is no where near the stadium. Also if you are looking for a a decent hotel jeff city is an option it is about 30-45 minutes from columbia.

No, No, No…..Stadium Grill is horrible. CJs downtown had good wings. Northeast of town there is a good bbq and drink joint called Como Smoke and Fire. Booches downtown is a pool hall but has some badass burgers. Other than that, really nothing as far as food is anything to brag about.

BengalBen, thank you. CAN YOU CONFIRM that shoulder parking is allowed on Stadium Blvd., west of Providence?
Were leaving right after game for a long drive, well into Kansas, so need to park smart, for an easy westward exit.

I thought Shakespeare Pizza was a little overrated. Not bad; just not anything special.

Plenty purple and gold at A Busch brewery and the Arch in St Louis today. Just got to Columbia. Campus area reminds me of Auburn. Hills and trees.
