How is Tennessee still top 5 after getting assblasted by A&M all weekend?

Whoops typed up same thread as you posted this. I’ll delete my thread

My OP: Top 4 looks exactly as you’d expect. Mainly posting this to point out LSU will play their third top 10 SEC road series in the past month this weekend.

ETA OP only included top 5. Auburn is in the top 10 this week at #9.

Not everyone is overly emotional towards Tennessee like you. We understand how baseball rankings and a season works.

Yeah they have the 4th best record in the SEC. Pretty chalk that they are ranked #4 in the country

They just 1 game behind us? A&M was pre-season top 5....maybe they are starting to play up to it.

Hell, Auburn is ranked top 10....who would think that?

I realize most only care about the end goal and getting a national seed, but LSU is in contention for the SEC title. That would be awesome to win - it has been 8 years and would be Jay’s first. I’m watching with that in mind from here on out. No matter how the season ends that would be a heck of a season already.

I know your gig here and know you are trolling...but just wondering, he is the best coach based upon what exactly? He has a championship right? I'm not going looking but I'd say that there are probably some coaches out there with more than one.....and I know there are several with ONE championship. Now if actual final results don't matter, I'd say you were correct. Unfortunately, for most, they do matter.

They were #1. Threw a no hitter in first game then lost twice to a team that has underperformed to date but have a ton of talent. People who know baseball realize in the SEC a team can lose a series against almost any team in the conference except maybe Mizzou.

Does anyone really believe A&M and UF suck just because they have had a bad start this year...if so see LSU's start last year

Figured Clemson would’ve been top 3.

Usually pretty early Monday morning. Pretty good at keeping to that time frame.

I sense your sarcasm. A few weeks ago, Tennessee was #1 and LSU was #2, both teams went 2-2 for the week, Tennessee stayed #1 while LSU dropped to #8 - and LSU’s two losses were to a top 10 team on the road.

It was obviously a huge overreaction, but don’t expect another overreaction in the other direction in favor of the Tigers. Although it doesn’t really matter until Memorial Day.

I would say I’m enjoying this roller coaster ride, but it’s only the rankings. LSU’s play has been as consistent as you could hope for so far this season.

I looked back at the last 20 years of college baseball. In that time, only 3 teams have won twice. Of those 3, 2 of those coaches aren't coaching anymore. So of the last 20 years, only 1 active coach has 2 championships, none have 3.

People can think he's the best coach regardless of championships. He wins a lot wherever he coaches and he recruits his arse off. Pretty good start to being a top tier coach if you ask me.

I believe that poster is ticked because we dropped like 7 spots after losing 2/3 on the road to a team much better than the team Tennessee lost 2/3 to at home and only dropped 3 spots. We were also more competitive in our loses than they were. It's an objectively legitimate beef to have with the pollsters but it is more pointing out that we shouldn't have dropped so far, not so much that Tenn should have have dropped more. What's good for the goose is good for the gander if you will
