Orlando Trip 2023

I don't know about you guys, but I've already started planning my trip to Orlando. If you were in New Orleans for the Florida State game this year, you saw the city turn maroon and gold for the entire weekend. I hope we can return the favor and paint Orlando purple and gold!

It's gonna be more like FSU's home game
I don't think LSU gets a huge allotment, probably similar to what FSU got in New Orleans
FSU bought a lot of tickets off the secondary market

Are there even many Florida St. fans in Orlando?

Yes, lots of them and they will show up.

It’s been a long time since their fans had excitement about a highly ranked team going into a season. Not so much for LSU. It’s a half day car ride or less for most of them and a plane ride for most of LSU. (It wasn’t in reverse for New Orleans) Hopefully I’ll be fresh off a trip to OMAHA and fine with catching it on TV.
85-15% FSU most likely

quote:. Me too, but I’m here to tell you- it ain’t happening. I’ve lived here in Orlando for over 30 years and we are outnumbered every single game we’ve ever played here, sometime by a wide margin and always by midwestern fans who have to travel much further. Since this is in FSU’s backyard we’ll be doing very well to have 20% of the fan composition in the stadium that night. Realistically it’ll be closer to 10%. It will be Doak Campbell south.
d. I hope we can return the favor and paint Orlando purple and gold!

Overrated: Galaxy’s Edge
Underrated: Liberty Square

I'll be in EPCOT on Saturday so neither Galaxy's edge or Liberty Square will be on my radar.

quote:. Absolutely. I personally know tons of FSU fans who live here. They will definitely have that stadium packed. It’s a joke to call this a neutral site game.

To be fair, it was a joke to call NOLA a neutral site also, but Fla. St did an incredible job of selling tickets and traveling.

You do realize that Tampa-St Pete is only an hour away from Orlando, right? Lots of Florida St fans in the Tampa area.

Exactly. This fanbase needs to get its balls back and support the program. So much apathy and excuses for attendance or other fanbases showing up when we haven’t for a while. It’s the nature of having an up and down program for ten years, I get it, but fan support is more important than it’s given credit for in here.

FSU and LSU each got the same allotment of tickets for the 2022 NOLA game. I assume that will be the case again in 2023 in Orlando.
Even if LSU gets 35K tickets, there's no way LSU will sell that many to LSU fans.

When do tickets go on sale?

I wish it was only an hour. Maybe if you live in east Tampa and win the no traffic or wrecks on I-4 lottery. Closer to 2 hours from St Pete if I get lucky. Plenty of FSU fans around though and it'll be a hostile environment. Just more sad faces to enjoy seeing after we hammer them though.

We are going. Doing one day at universal, one day at Magic Kingdom/EPCOT.

quote:actually it’s not anymore. The game in New Orleans is not at all comparable to what we’ll see in Orlando. Lately lsu fans either get outnumbered or matched in New Orleans. That’s on LSU fans. It shouldn’t happen but let’s face it- our fans these days don’t seem to be as loyal and rabid as those that have taken over NO. FSU fans won’t let LSU fans come anywhere close to taking over Orlando even if LSU fans wanted to, and don’t think they do. (Yes- take this as a challenge LSU fans!- I’d like nothing more than to be very wrong!)
