After 2 weeks of college baseball, your unofficial national Home Run leader is….Penn State OF Paxton Kling!!
The former Tiger hit his 5th bomb today.

Glad to see him doing well…

He cut his hair for the team pic. Guess it helped his swing as well.

He had a lot of pressure placed upon him early here. A change of scenery and expectations likely did his mental clarity some good. Further proof that we should relish these Curiel years. Baw looks like an MLB guy already.

I’d be interested to see a side by side comparison of his swing from last season to this one. There is no doubt he was underperforming last season.

Jay was enamored with his talent. Said on many occasions he was a true 5-tool guy potential.
Elite speed
Great arm
Power bat
Just needed consistency.

Did he have 5 HRs in his entire time at LSU?

Great for him.

I think Kling Kong is one of the ones Jay was surprised he wanted out. Best of luck to him it’s obvious a change of scenery and less pressure has been good for him. I hope he continues to play well.

Looks like he’s more serious about baseball now. Glad to see it for his sake.

Yep.

No matter how good he does at Penn State (and I hope he continues to do well), I just don't think it was going to click here.

But he was able to get a fresh start and it's helping him.

He was always pretty good against inferior opponent. Sucked in SEC play

one of his home runs this year was against an SEC team.

He's clearly playing better. His strikeouts are way down too. He's 11/25 with 1 2B, 5 HRs, and has only struck out 5 times in 30 plate appearances. He never played that well, even against bad teams, here. In fact, he had 5 HRs his entire career here in 279 plate appearances

Most of his issues at LSU were mental. It was clear as day he had all the tools and it made complete sense why Jay believed he'd figure it out and loved what be brought as a player.

The talent was there, just didn't play at a high level between the ears.

I don't think anyone is going to shite on this kid. He seemed like a good person and worked hard, but was just trying too hard it seemed here, to live up to the expectations. Glad he's doing well, and at least not at one of our rival schools. Hope he has a good year after moving back home.

Hell, he was hyped up to be the next Dylan Crews … tough to live up to those expectations. I hope now he’s able to relax and have some success.

Hate when our players transfer out because I pull for them to excel. As long as they aren't going to our competitors, I wish them nothing but the best.

Hope Paxton tears it up all season long.
