theyve got to know how your doing fine
hang on to the ball as you hit the wall
and smash right through the line
you've got to go for a touchdown
run up the score
make mike the tiger stand up and roar
ROAR!
give it all your might as you fight tonight
and keep the goal in view

I am sooooo musically illiterate and for that I apologize.

My son (11) is learning the trumpet. Since we live in Alabama, I just thought it would be sweet if he could learn those opening four notes of the pregame salute, practice them and break that out in class one day.

I don't know if that clears anything up???

I played 1st Trumpet in Tigerband in 1986. I'm sure I have a copy of my music around here amonst all my LSU paraphernalia SOMEWHERE in this house. Gimme a couple of days to search through my stuff and I'll see if I can find it, scan it, and post it for your son.

Thought I'd better edit this to add this. . . I'll be willing to bet that if your son would send a brief letter to Dr. Frank Wickes, Director of Bands at LSU, that Dr. Wickes or someone associated with Tigerband would willingly and freely oblige his request for the 1st Trumpet part of Pregame. You'd only be out of pocket the cost of a stamp.

That would be awesome! I think the Bammer band director will be surprised.

Well, on trumpet, the first four notes are:

C C C E. If that helps.

I'm still gonna search the closet out in the garage for all my pregame-show music. I just found my trumpet two weeks ago. Haven't played it in about 8 years, but I can still play the entire pregame show flawlessly: "Pregame" ; "National Anthem"; "LSU Alma Mater"; and "Fight for LSU" (when we make the tunnel for the team at the north endzone goal posts.) Hard part wasn't playing all these pieces from memory. . . It was playing all these pieces from memory without going out into the front yard and marching through the whole thing while playing it. (It's kinda hard to spell out LSU in your front yard in Georgia when there's only one of ya. )
