My oldest son is graduating from HS this year, and he asked to go to the CWS. We are going the weekend of the CWS finals. I've never been, and would love to get recommendations from folks who have been before.

Places to eat...
Things to do...

Rent a car or just Uber?

It's just the 2 of us and we have a hotel in Council Bluffs ~5 miles from the Stadium. Thanks in advance.

Just eat only jello shots while you’re there

There's no point in going, LSU won't be there... joking of course.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but with how close you are, I think Ubering won't be a problem. Especially if you are going for the finals I believe it is for the most part cleared out by then.

We have exclusively used Uber and Lyft in Omaha. It's usually very affordable compared to big cities.

Start looking into HELOC rates in order to buy tickets.

The presale yesterday had 45,000 in the queue for game 1.

I've stayed in Council Bluffs in years prior. Uber/Lyft is easy and what I use. 801 Chophouse & The Drover for dinner. Joe B's brother is part owner of a really nice breakfast place called Early Bird as well.

Omaha has an excellent Zoo, but not everyone’s thing.

The Salty Dog (Sports Bar & Grill) is a favorite of mine. Wings are next level.

No need to rent a car. Call your hotel to see if they offer a complementary shuttle to/from the stadium, most do.

We stayed at the casino in Council Bluffs in 2023. We used Uber every day to get across and back. We also got SRO tickets by getting in line every morning before the box office opened and had great views above 3rd base dugout each game. I think they were $45 a piece.

uber is easy

rococo's will be slammed - advise that you stop by it for the spectacle of the shot race but go anywhere else for pregame drinking/eating

decent amount of options for food/drinks before the game

Book your hotel now. If LSU makes it that far everything near the stadium will disappear

I always recommend to people who have never been to go for the first 4 days. Get there the day before the games start. You will have all 8 teams with their fans plus the locals. You will have 2 games every day.

It’s awesome.

They will disappear regardless. Ole Miss, Miss St, Arkansas, almost all SEC teams take over and there should be multiple from the conference this year.

We stayed 1/4 mile from stadium and plenty of bars and restaurants. We only drove our car to go to the zoo one day. I think a Holliday Inn . Adequate and convenient.

Personally I prefer staying in West Omaha if you aren't going to be downtown. Nicer area with better dining options

Don't rent a car, a bus usually goes back and forth from the hotel. I rented one when I went and didn't use it 1 time.
