Not to stop the Kelly hate, but we did have the worst offensive coordinator in the league.

Pretty incredible we had almost nothing over the middle of the field in the passing game.

The OC got scooped up pretty quick. How about Kelly?

One of those would not be considered a cause, and the other probably did not occur in a way that would be considered a cause under the terms of the contract.

Kentucky's HC is the OC. Sloan will maybe call his plays, but it'll be the HC's game plan and play sheet.

Kelly said he was in every offensive game plan meeting, helped strategize on scripted start to each half, and often made sideline checks in and out of plays. Kellys offense at notre dame was similar. We just didnt have the blocking tes, or elite oline group to run offense he wanted. Its on Kelly. Similar to when we had to play perkins at nickel db due to cbs injuries in years prior. The dc didnt want to do that, but your limited with your personnel sometimes.

J daniels being a video game + 2 all pro receivers will make any oc/ hc look great, so the offensive issues got hidden in his early years as hc.

It was frustrating how they always seemed to hug the sidelines when passing. There were some great catches made that didn’t count because they were out of bounds when they’d come down.

This is exactly right. Sloan is a good QB coach/developer. He was brought in for that skill set and the HC will still call all of the plays.
