Sleepwalking as if this game don't count. Still lot's of questions about this team. Tenner will help answer where we are in the scheme of things.

In SEC play when we are fighting to be a top 8 seed? Sure why not. Let’s treat the third game of every series like mid week game lol

Here's my opinion so listen carefully:
Cowan is not available tonight
Evans is available because he threw only 35 pitches Thursday. He's good for 6 outs not 12 tonight
Shores is a 5 inning pitcher.
So if you start Shores and he goes 5 innings then you bring in Evans for 2 innings that's 7 innings right there. So you still need 6 outs somewhere.
By starting Ware for 2 innings and then bring in Shores and he gets you 5 innings that's 7 full innings so then you turn it over to Evans for the final 6 outs.
So then you will ask why not bring in Ware in to pitch the 6th and 7th innings and let Shores go the first 5 innings then go to Evans. Maybe Jay thought it would be better to start Ware then go with Shores.
It will be interesting to see what Jay says after the game about why he started Ware.
Again just my opinion

Shores needs to work mid-week games until he gets it right. If it doesn’t pan out the portal will be open.

Big arm with no command and no out pitch. If he can command his sinker he is good but that hasn’t been the case all season…
