Dropped from #2 to #7 in ELO and dropped from #6 to #12 in RPI.

That's a big drop for one game in late April

Don’t have an unprecedented loss at home to a NSU team that is 5th in the southland conference

Get run ruled by a directional school mid week this is what happens.

margin of victory has no effect on RPI. Losing a home game to a Q3 school does, though. Beat Tennessee this weekend, it's a wash and doesn't matter

Take care of our weekend series and it’s a non talking point. RPI at 6 or 12 doesn’t matter at this point with the games we have ahead.

Why are we worried about RPI and ELO repercussions when we have TN, ARK, A&M, and SC ahead?

Although losing to MWST is disappointing, it isn’t going to matter if we win 8 of the next 12. Or an even lesser amount.

Yea I know it doesn't really matter for SEC teams. Just thought it was interesting how hard it hit. I didn't expect that much movement 40+ games into the season

That was a horrible and inexcusable loss last night. However, one good thing that happened last night is that Vanderbilt lost at home to Middle Tennessee State, a team with a losing record.

That's for the "these games don't matter" crowd.

I couldn't be a teammate of a person who believes that.

Id imagine other results factored in. We wouldnt drop that far just from a loss to an rpi 71 team

The RPI drop truly doesn’t matter. We have 3 quad 1 series remaining. The RPI will work itself out based on our record the next 3 weeks. The game Tuesday wasn’t even our worst loss from an RPI standpoint. And pretty much every SEC team has a worse loss.

Use a little common sense. If it affected our RPI that much with one loss, imagine losing several of these like we used to do under Mainieri. It adds up, unless you win 20 conference games, if you want to be a top 8 seed. So yes, it matters.

How about you use some common sense in that big melon head and realize what you said. Why would anybody imagine losing more games when they haven’t. You are just making up a false scenario for your argument but yea he needs common sense. That game does not matter if they take care of business this weekend

Correct. Losing 5 or 6 like Mainieri used to does affect you enough to somewhat be concerned. However, we haven’t done that this year. We have 1 quad 3 loss and 1 quad 4 loss. So no I disagree it doesn’t matter if we have an RPI of 6 or 12 at this point in the season. It’ll work itself out over the next 3 weekends. LSU is said to have a lead on Auburn from a top 8 standpoint and Auburn has an RPI of 3 lol. Bama at 10 also has a lower shot than LSU.

I don't have a melon head, and you clearly haven't tried very hard to think about what I said. How many times over the years has LSU lost multiple midweek games, only for people to say "it doesn't matter". By that logic, we could lose them all, and it wouldn't matter. Of course it matters. That;s why they play the game.

Try a little harder before running your mouth.

You say all of this based on the assumption that LSU plays well down the stretch. This upcoming schedule is no guarantee to end well, and every game matters. If we look up and LSU has finished strong, we can say this loss didn't hurt, but since none of us can see the future, it never makes sense to say it doesn't matter.
