Watched that documentary on Tubi. It’s where he scored 68 on the Knicks, it’s really cool seeing these old school guys play ball. Man, stating the obvious but Pistol was so good. It’s crazy

But the Jazz were always terrible

The Jazz were on their way to the Playoffs when Pete tore up his knee.

You should have seen him in person at LSU...changed basketball forever in the SEC.

He changed basketball at all levels. Basketball today began with Pete. Watched him for all four years at LSU.

Truck Robinson, Gail Goodrich, and Rich Kelley would disagree.
If Pete hadn’t gotten injured they were a playoff team.

Yep, I would have loved to have seen that! Anyone who got to watch him play is really lucky!

Tell ya what, McAdoo was pretty darn good himself and as a 46 year old watching Phil Jackson running the court was pretty funny instead of seeing him coaching on the bench.

Pistol fouled out that night. Guess the ref who called the garbage 6th foul?
Dick Bavetta who officiated forever.

I bet Caitlyn Clark would have scored 70 on them. You know.. She's just a bit better than Pete.

I was at that 68pt. game as well! I went to almost all the home Jazz games. We always used the 2 for
$4 nose bleed seat coupons, then go downstairs for better seats after the First Quarter at the Superdome games!

Would have been fun to watch him and Larry Bird on the same team.

Yeah, unfortunately he retired the season before they won it all.

As great of a basketball player he was he was a greater Son to his dieting father and LSU coach Maravich and a reborn Christian in his final days.
I pray Pete is in heaven with both his earthly father and his Savior , Jesus Christ.

I’ve mentioned this before, but late in Jazz games, Pete would bank his “and 1” free throws
