If we are only going to send 3 teams, we've got to make sure scheduling isn't so uneven. Everyone's still going to have losses but at least we will send the best we have.

This is absurd

Honestly, a 10 team SEC playing a true round robin would be incredible for the fans.

LSU
Bama
UGA
Florida
Auburn
Ole Miss
Miss St
Tennessee
South Carolina
Kentucky

Cut loose Texas, OU, Mizzou, A&M, Arkansas, and Vandy

Vandy stays, they are a charter member of the SEC, cocks go.

And give up the money from the tv deal with ABC/ESPN? Wishful thinking.

VANDY /Nashville becomes the new SEC HQ….no one would bitch about this, well, except for BAMA

While true, Vandy is an outlier with no interest in committing the same resources to athletics that the modern, successful SEC programs do. If they want to stay (in my world) they need real facilities, rabid fans, and competitive spending to maintain a standard.

“They’ve been here forever” only goes so far when the league keeps improving. They hold an all-time win % in conference of 24.5% and that drops into the mid-teens since 1960.

South Carolina has won almost 40% of their conference games since they joined the league.

divisions

How do you do that? East & West, North & South, or Leaders & Legends-- or maybe some designations peculiar to the region?

“Southeast” and “Southeast-adjacent”

SE:……………SE-A:
UGA…………..Texas
Bama…………OU
LSU….……….A&M
Ole Miss………Mizzou
MSU………….Arkansas
Auburn……….South Carolina
Tenn………….Vanderbilt
Florida………..Kentucky

Sure, one side is a little deeper, but who cares. It’s the games I want to see.

Or…
Go ahead and raid the joke called the ACC, play nine-game round-robins on each side, and have two true division winners play in a CG.
East:
UVA
VT
UNC
NCSU
KY
TN
Vandy
SC
GA
FL

West
AL
Aub
MS
MSU
LSU
AR
MO
TX
A&M
OU

The eight teams on the left are the teams I think of as the original SEC members. Of the group on the right only Kentucky and Vandy are traditional SEC teams, and I don't know if they're part of the original charter

Since NCAA is just NFL minor league with free agency. Divide the conferences into 6 ten team divisions. Take the top two from each. Let the left out teams take the bottom teams place each year.

60 teams is too many. The top division eventually will be 30-32 teams like most professional leagues.
