Father in law called saying his ESPN+ won’t let him
Watch games since he gets the above error message. Anybody know how to fix this . ESPN+ works for everything else except Sec+ content.

Does he have the SEC Network as part of his cable/satellite package? SECN+ is not included with the ESPN+ subscription.

Does he have cable? If he gets SEC network he can watch every game on the watchESPN website or app with his provider login
You don’t have to go through ESPN+

If he’s on a Firestick, I have been getting this error during baseball season. Log out of ESPN app and log back in - that has worked for me

Mine gave me the same message. I just retried it a couple of times and it worked. I have the ESPN app on my fire stick . It will originally ask you what your cable provider is and then prompt you to put in your user ID and passcode for your cable provider

I have to use the Sony remote not my cable remote. Sony remote to ESPN app.

My dad was clicking on the ESPN+ instead of clicking on Browse>Channels>SEC+>Game
If you select ESPN+ your tv provider login will be denied every time and requires a ESPN+ subscription. If you select browse and go to SEC+ your tv provider login should work.

My mom and a friend of mine are both having the same issue. They both have DirectTV and have reached out about the problem. DirectTV says it’s an ESPN+ issue. ESPN says it’s a DirectTV issue. No one can figure out the issue. I have YouTube TV and I am not having this issue.

Thanks I’m sure that’s the issue

My parents haven't been able to access any SEC+ games and they have Directv. They're able to access games labeled ESPN3, but not SECN, ESPN+,or SECN+. I know they shouldn't get ESPN+ because they don't have the extra subscription. They should be able to get all of the SECN/SECN+ games, as they have SEC on their regular channels.
They get an error message that says:
"Unable to play video
0033:The customer is not authorized for the content requested"

He needs to activate on a phone that is not on the home wifi. Turn off wifi on the phone and activate the account via cell signal. Trust me.
This is by design but so many people don't realize why. Espn validates the wifi network to subscriber account.

WatchESPN was already convoluted enough back in the day, and they somehow made it less intuitive by merging it with the general ESPN app.
I don't watch things that require me to open that app. It really sucks, but I'd rather listen to the radio than have to deal with that shite.
The day major programming goes to ESPN+ is the day I find something better to do with my time.

My TV does the same thing every so often. Just have to go back to the selection and retry - works every time for me !

Go to ESPN. Click to top options go all the way to the cog at the top next to browse. Log out and go to activate. a code will pop up. Go to your computer and go to activate ESPN if you have Direct TV you choose whatever provider you use. Put in code and click continue to activate.
