I wrote out the second basemen dating back to 1990, and I think Dickinson is the best defender LSU has had at that position in at least 35 years.

Some of the plays & throws he is forced to make on the OF grass are tough as hell, and he just makes them look easy.

He’s really good charging balls, and going to his right up the middle too. Having a SS arm really helps.

I am very very pleased and a bit surprised at how good he has been there, given that he was shuffled around a bit this offseason.

I’ve been really impressed with his defense. The whole infield, with Braswell at 3rd, has really been playing well. The defense Jays first year was pretty rough from what I remember, but it has settled in since then.

He competed with Milam and Braswell for the SS job when he got here. It's a luxury to have three guys capable of playing SS patrolling the infield.

He could easily be our SS and a good one.

Jones has made some really good stretches n digs to help his infield out a ton too..They have all been extremely impressive outside of Reaves at 3rd. You see Dickenson's athleticism flash every game.

He makes it look easy. That glove flip to Jones was so clean. Props to Jones on the scoop too.

Cole Freeman was also a very good defensive 2B from what I remember but Danny has been extremely good this year, as well!

Dickinson is a guy I think we don’t talk about as much because he’s a hell of a ball player that consistently just does his job and never really messes up. He’s above average at everything he does. Fielding, hitting, running, throwing, bunting, etc.

We have guys on the team that can’t hit SEC pitching but crush Mid-week pitching. But Danny is consistent unlike those guys. His conference batting average is very close to his overall battting average. He can lead off or bat cleanup. It sucks we don’t have him for longer.

Did y'all see that flip to Jones for the out at first? I was sure he was safe but replay showed a great play by both of them!

This is truly remarkable - Had lots of rough spots last year but I can count on one finger the number of real errors I've seen this year.

Was worried about Milan at SS because of this height, but I don't know of anyone else who can make some of the plays he has so far - and his arm is truly exceptional.

Braswell at third has been a blessing as well.

Overall, we have a great defense everywhere - I am impressed.

I think Dickinson is the most dependable player on our roster. I’d love to have him back next season

Good post Lester. Totally agree that he looks very good there. Another stud brought in by Jay for sure.

He's a stud 2B. Looks like he's not even trying most of the time lol. He's incredibly smooth with it.

Dickinsons glove flip is one of the best I have seen…possibly ever. He is a wizard and his flips are incredibly accurate.

My only issue with Dickinson is that we didn’t have him for all 3 years. Really enjoy watching him play.
