We have problems in every phase of the game. But if you read the game thread one would be left thinking that Braswell is the biggest problem. We came into the weekend fielding .975 and Vandy was fielding .977 yet our fricking ERAs are in two different universes. Obviously having a short stop not making errors would be ideal, but even if that were to happen we are still going to be left disappointed if our pitching keeps pitching like this. It was 3-0 before anyone on our defense had a chance to even make an error.

I agree our defense hasn’t help our pitching out. But more often than not our pitching hasn’t carried its own weight.

although I haven't checked out our HBP numbers recently (JML?)

Thought by not having HBP posted Thursday & getting the W I wouldn’t post them
Apparently how threads are started aren’t the issue

I think that it’s more difficult to explain the lack of competitive pitchers from a whole staff of talented guys, than it is to hold one guy at SS accountable for his poor play, so that’s why there is so much focus on him.

If there’s one guy playing poorly defensively, there’s an obvious solution to rotate in other guys. If all of the pitchers you throw out there are unreliable, save 2-3 guys, there is no obvious solution during the season. And “fire the coach!” is not a pleasant option when it would mean 4 different pitching coaches in 4 years.

Umps wanted an early dinner meal. LSU could have added at least another run.

Dude they are all problems and people are going to complain about all of it. The reason the game thread was filled with Braswell comments today was because he fumbled 3 ground balls and overthrew another. That is going to draw fans attention, rape when you lead the league in errors.

We all know pitching sucks. Just because the pitching sucks, doesn’t mean people can’t say Braswell sucks defensively as well.

Jay should have been able to get the best overall SS in the portal.

Not sure who that was this season. But I would think he could have.

Or talk somebody even better into entering the portal.

That would be tampering. LSU's coaches should avoid that sort of thing.

Maybe, I heard the same thing about Jayden Daniels coming into football season. I must admit, I would love to get a prime defensive SS again.

Yeah, I will say I didn't follow the thread in totality like I would normally do, but I was following along mostly while watching the game.

When I really started paying attention to this particular discussion, it just seemed everyone was talking over each other.

So we don't suck at everything!
