His story isnt being done being written.

He was behind a veteran starter who ultimately won the heisman here as a FR. He was behind an entrenched starter in Dart at Ole Miss for 2 years who simply got better and better and will be a decent draft pick himself now. Most coaches would never mess with their starting QB even if they think the backup is really good in scenarios like that.

Walker has 2 more years to prove himself, if he has a big year at ULL the narrative could change on him pretty quickly. HE could be headed right back up the next year in the portal to a P5 team willing to pay him 7 figures to be their QB. We simply dont know how this story will end quite yet, but he's been in tough situations the last 3 years to see any playing time whatsoever.

Ty Simpson was ranked higher and he’s barely seen the field either.

Sam Huard the year before did exactly dick all.

Brock Vandegriff sucks

Walker’s career trajectory isn’t even uncommon.

I wouldn't call him a bust. Just another in a long line of QBs that were overrated coming out of high school. These recruiting services hit on about 50% of QBs.

Honestly I dont think he wants to play or has the heart to play. I think he's just enjoying the NIL ride.

who was that 5 star qb/dual threat that we had years ago, that the running joke was would he ever throw a pass. Ended up making some nice bank in the NFL...as a rec I think. Cant remember his name.

IMO, he's made some poor decisions regarding his career path. I guess there's still time to recover.

negative , how can you crown him "biggest bust in last 20 years" when his college career isn't over.

this is likely your answer .... Tate Martell - Five-Star QB in 2017 - Ohio State, Miami, and UNLV

Tate Martell was widely considered to be the best high school player in his class and one of the best recruits ever. He went 45-0 in his high school career at Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas and was the Gatorade National Player of the Year his senior year. He went to Ohio State, could never win the starting job, and ended up transferring to Miami after Justin Fields transferred to Ohio State. He couldn't win the job there either and they even tried him out at wide receiver. That didn't work out so he transferred back home to UNLV where again he couldn't win the job and eventually retired from football in 2022 following an injury.

Russell Sheppard. Les Miles had a memorable post game presser about him at the back end of his senior season. Look up “Les Miles kiss them on the lips” on YouTube.

Again, look who he was behind at both places. Not exactly an indictment on him

It took Garrett Nussmeier 4 years to finally start in college.
