For now.

And until some others mature, I think CJJ is gonna have to really rethink things on how he structures the weekend rotation. For example, use an "opener" and see of he can get through an inning or two.

No easy solution.

And to end on a positive note, Paxton Kling now has a 2-game SEC hitting streak.

The starters have not been a problem on Fri and Sat. The issue is only being able to rely on Herring out of the pen so every week we are playing for 1 win

I was just thinking the same. 2/3 is the best we can hope for

Meaning, bring a starter in as a Relief?

This team lacks a right handed arm out of the pen they can trust. That's been apparent for sometime now. Not sure how we got here but we are here

Part of me thinks looking back we should have thrown off every series this point. But we did that against Arkansas and got swept. Hurd, Ack, and Guidry are the three biggest head scratchers bc it’s obvious Jay was counting on them and at this point can’t trust them in a tight game.

The good news is, if those 3 come around we can hang with anyone in the nation. And most people believe they will come around. The biggest concern is, will it be too late when this team starts clicking.

I've been surprised how bad pitching has been. I thought Ack, Hurd, Guidry, etc would perform much better.

Also Im tired as hell watching our guys throw the batters three straight breaking balls nowhere near the zone to get into so many 3-0 counts.

Pitch calling has been terrible. If your pitcher can't throw a slider with out spiking it in the dirt it's time to give it up. We have not been challenging hitters.

Jay said giving up that 9-0 lead Thursday cost us bad because he had to bring in Herring.

He was wanting to win with that big lead and hold him to Friday and felt we would have won the series.

Yes, he acknowledges he can only trust 1 reliever right now and that he is surprised by that.
