It should be pretty obvious this team is not making the post season. Do we just chalk it up to losing too much talent and give coaching a pass? I know questioning coaching is taboo to some but I personally think Johnson has put his team in bad spots trying to outsmart everyone with analytics. Curious to hear others thoughts.

I definitely think we need some solid defensive catchers and someone to coach them.

No more shift. Ever.

I don’t care if the analytics say he hasn’t hit to left since U5 t-ball.

No more shift.

Well for starters our pitching coach should only be allowed in a baseball stadium if he’s the one selling the churros.

LSU needs defensive outfielders that can judge a fly ball. All season long has been really shaky and today was a pitiful exhibition of defensive outfield play. Even the pop fly in the 9th should have been caught by any decent outfielder that knows how to get a jump on a fly ball.
Catching defense is next to horrible all year. Neal is the worst and Millazo's play hasn't been much better lately.
I love our freshman 2nd baseman, who should be our leadoff hitter.
I guess JJ is trying to get White to lead the nation in solo homers...he has to be close.
Bear has been better than expected. Not sure what happened on the throw...I suspect he was shielded by the runner and was expecting the throw on the inside of the bag and maybe never saw the throw.
Wish we had Bama CF...he would help us immensely.
We need a better SS
Alll in all, this was a very ordinary team....some good stuff, but way too much bad to be called a solid team.
Oh well....maybe next year. This year is over.

1) a lot of pitching
2) a new pitching coach that doesn’t get everyone’s velo to decline and throw straight off speeds
3) 3 new infielders to replace draftees (White/Jones) and upgrade SS.
4) an outfielder or 2 that can hit .300+

I’ll be interested to see how aggressive we are in the portal vs being patient with some guys. There are several that I think might transfer if too much competition comes in and they don’t have a clear path to play. Like our whole outfield

What you're asking will require a lot of transfers, as there's not a lot of player development with this coaching staff.
