What is a Toonces

Toonces was the name of a driving cat in the 1980s
Saturday Night Live shows, pretty much took the place of Mr. Bill for a while. He had a nasty habit of driving the guest stars over cliffs, but he always survived, thanks to his 9 lives. The logo wight the half smiling, no one is scared of you look of tToonces reminds many of that SNL creation.
When the Saban/Bertman approved logo came out in 2002 it was an effort to "modernize" LSU. And we paid some kid like 500K to draw it up, I believe.

the history is spot on....but the reason for the comparison is the outstretched paws of the logo...like toonces driving the car.

Nah, Curley wasn't an investment. As ugly as Toonces is.... nobody bought into Curley.
ANd then DiNardo. My dear God, no wonder why the 1990s were so bad.
At least Curley didn't get the prize of being the only coach fired by the SEC, the Big 10... and the XFL.

Tooncinator is a funny sketch.
Maybe we should call the LSU logo "Tooncinator"?
Unfortunately, We don't seem to have any plans to get rid of this new logo -- we've had it for going on seven years now. Seems pretty permanent to me.
