Why can’t we charge a small NIL fee on game tickets?

It wouldn’t need to be anything huge, maybe $5 a ticket max. Is it against the rules? I wasn’t aware NIL had any rules if so. Even just a small fee like $5 would put an extra couple million in the fund each year and it would take pressure off some of our largest donors who are asked to donate large sums year after year. We will never have Texas or A&M type money to blow but with our talent base and being the only big time college in the state we don’t need $12 million to spend like Texas did this year. We could do just as much with 1/3 of that.

Schools are not supposed to have anything to do with NIL.

This is how taxes started... just a little extra

ok thanks.Like I said, I wasn’t aware there were any rules for NIL as it seems like there isn’t but I can see that point. Eventually there will have to be some type of governing or this is just going to get more ridiculous each year. I want players to be paid but the way things are right now it’s getting out of hand quickly.

If it were possible, why would you think other schools wouldn’t and just make it a moot point competitively?
Would you make a post saying to go to 10 then?

NIL is from outside sources and is not affiliated with the university. You can donate to the NIL fund, I forget the name.

Or you could contribute to Bayou Traditions fund.

Because it violates NCAA rules would be my guess.

That's not how any of this works. The schools do not pay the kids.

Yet.. NCAA just proposed a rule change to allow this. Nothing official yet, but there may be a time when TAF is paying players directly.
Current structure is only allowed by Bayou Traditions, Gordon, etc

How ‘bout “no?”
I pay enough in fees for football and baseball season tickets already. I’d rather college athletics return to being a point of pride for alumni and regional fans as opposed to funding cars and other luxury items for 18 year-olds. If that means not winning as much, so be it.
The entitlement has become too great.

If you’re ok with this…..
Why not charge a $50 NIL Fee to each student’s tuition per semester?
