Did I miss something? Also does this count as a conference game since it was just a weekday game?

You can schedule anyone you want in non conference. It was not an SEC game.

For the governors cup or whatever they call it. Doesn’t count as a sec game.

That’s what i figured. Just seemed like an odd time of the season for it.

So if they can do this in baseball, whats stopping UT/Alabama or Fla/UGA from doing this in football so we can have a rotating SEC schedule that is so obviously needed.

It’s a mid-week game deemed as non-conference. Neither could find any close by cupcakes to play a mid-week game like LSU does.

I'd like to see LSU face Southern Miss @ Biloxi's MGM Park before SEC play

I heard somewhere last year about them playing a mid week game and it wouldn’t count as an SEC game

Go ahead and add a weekend series against Florida St in Pensacola to the wish list, I would love to see an adjustment to the RPI formula that takes away the risk and adds reward for playing big schools pre-conference. And while I hate neutral site football games, I look forward to those games in college baseball.

It would be really cool to have a non-conference weekend, at the midway point in warmer weather, similar to the all-star break in baseball. Play three games over four days to rest some pitching and a beach trip for the players,. An early April weekend series with 3 games each day of say LSU/FSU, Bama/Clemson, and Arkansas/Miami. Or round robin like they do the Texas series, Do the same thing in Corpus, Biloxi, and Charleston.
