Would there be anyway for Wil Wade to come back to LSU.

Obviously the best thing for the LSU basketball program would be for Scott Woodward to swallow his pride, fire Matt McMahon after this debacle of a season, and offer Will Wade a large contract with facility upgrade guarantees and a huge budget to come back to LSU.

I can't see this happening, but anyone that thinks we're better off with Matt McMahon in 24/25 vs Will Wade doesn't know much about college basketball.

HIGHLY UNLIKELY...but maybe not impossible.

First, it would take both sides swallowing some ego and no one really knows what (if any) bridges were burned in the divorce.

That said, the ONLY reason I'd say it's not a 0% chance is because this was one of those situations where a popular HC was not fired because of poor on the court performance. Many fans still like Wade. Moreso now given the state of the program since he left. More importantly, many boosters/supporters like him. With him being back in Louisiana now he could seamlessly transition back into the HC job at LSU with support from the money people...which any HC absolutely needs. If he takes a bigger job elsewhere he is going to have to start the process of winning over the money folks from 0.

Finally, there is not a lot of risk of a "repeat offense". What got him fired is basically now "legal". No more need for clandestine calls and vague references to money. He could out and out recruit businesses for NIL money to offer players. Frankly, I think he would be excellent in that role because he has fully embraced the NIL era whereas many older coaches still don't like this new world of college free agency.

there is less than a zero percent chance. Neither side would even entertain it. McMahon and Wade are not the only 2 coaches in college basketball, and Will Wade is not the only human on planet Earth that can get LSU to the tournament most years. Move. the frick. On. It's over.

Regardless of what happens, you can bet the house Woody will be offering someone a large contract. Guy has to be the worst negotiator on the planet. Woody is the kinda guy to walk out the dealership thinking he robbed them.

Personally I’d be willing to pay money again for season tickets to watch WW and his teams. I will only go occasionally now with free tickets. It’s that different. In the end it’s entertainment with added Tiger program loyalty. Unfortunately neither are currently present.

I seriously doubt it. IIRC, didn't Wade lie to Scott's face when questioned about Wade paying players using his wife's checkbook ? As I remember, once that went public from the NCAA, Woodward immediately cut bait. I could be mis-remebering but thought that's how it went down.

It took Will Wade about a week to turn McNeese from a college basketball graveyard to one of the best mid majors in the country. Saying he's a bad coach at this point just makes you sound like an idiot.
