Totally forgot about this guy and haven't heard anything in the offseason about him. Has he recovered fully from his injury? As bad as our secondary was last season he was starting to come around and look like our most reliable corner. Would be a tremendous help this season as a Senior DB with the most game experience.

He is still recovering. I think he is due back for fall camp but it will take some time to get back into shape

Even if he's not ready to go at the start of the season, if he's recovered enough to even be out there--even if he's not going through all the drills--should help with the young guys. He can basically be another coach until he's a full go.

I'm no medical expert at all, but you've got to be close to 100% to be able to play corner against some of the teams we'll be playing. They may be able to sprinkle him in for a few plays here or there, but I wouldn't expect him to be fully ready until October (based on when the injury occurred). Which could be a blessing in disguise if we can make it through September undefeated. The young guys are gonna get thrown in the fire early and that will only make the entire group better once Zy gets back.

That USC game scares me, though. So many new pieces on defense and will be tough for Baker to figure out how they fit together against that offense. Nuss, Sloan, and the rest of the offense are gonna have to be ready to roll from jump and be able to put up a bunch of points.

Yeah, but what you didn't mention was USC lost a huge part of their offense...not just Caleb Williams but I believe some other key contributors at other skill positions. And my brother watched all their games and their OL was shite! It was garbage! Williams was running for his life on my plays and kudos to him for putting up so many points in basic chaos drill plays.

well our DLine vs their Oline should be an intriguing watch, damn really wish Maason would have stayed his final year to help out, would have been a huge piece to the team for him to have a great senior year

I feel pretty good about the O. Solid, veteran O-line should offset any weaknesses that may appear in the running game. I just hope the offense doesn't become too dependent on Nuss slinging it downfield.
