Anyone with a Capital One Venture Card get invited to upgrade

I mean I have the Venture X if you need a referral

Why didn’t you just apply for a new card to get 100k? Check r/churning. If there was such an upgrade offer, someone there has it. I screenshot shot all my offers for this very reason.

Need to evaluate Venture X vs. Chase Sapphire Reserve...not so sure the Reserve is worth it at the moment.

Bad idea to upgrade with Venture card already to the X. That offer is only 50k miles. Even with a Venture card you can just apply for the Venture X without upgrading and get the 100k mile offer like other new people.

Nah. Cheaper than platinum. Though, I more than make that back with perks.

That's what this kind of competes against, so $395 is very cheap.

Especially like others said you get a $300 travel credit if you book any travel through Capital One making the annual fee effectively $95 which is the exact same as the regular Venture card, and you also get 10,000 miles annually for free which is worth at least $100 (if you just redeem as travel reimbursement), making the annual fee effectively free...and you still earn 2x miles on everything just like the regular Venture and also 5x miles on flights booked through them and 10x miles on rental cars and hotels booked through them which the regular venture card only gets 2x miles on.

It's really a no brainer if you travel even just some every year.

Additional things you get over $95 fee Venture card
- 10,000 annual bonus miles; worth at least $100 redeemed for travel reimbursement

- 100,000 bonus miles upon sign up which is 40,000 more vs. Venture offer ($60k) if you have neither card; that's $400 more value minimum ($1,000 vs. $600) It's also 50k more miles than upgrading your venture to Venture X

- Venture X offers $300 annual travel credit, Venture offers no annual travel credit

- Pays for Priority pass for every card holder plus can take 2 guests each...this is huge value every time you go into a P.P. lounge...regular venture has no priority pass access

- 10x miles on hotels/rental cars, 5x miles on flights which is way more than 2x on Venture; both are 2x on everything except Venture X gets the perk for flights/hotels/rental cars

Ex. Book a vacation through cap one where flights are $800, hotel is $1000 and you get a rental car for $600. On Venture card this is rewarded with 4,800 miles since it's 2x miles on everything. On Venture X you are rewarded with 20,000 miles since it's 5x on that $800 flight and 10x on that $1000 hotel and $600 rental car. That's a huge difference. You get a base value of $48 of rewards with Venture simply redeeming it as travel credit or $200 on Venture X redeeming it the same way.

- Venture X is offering $200 vacation rental credit in first year, not offered on regular venture card...basically if you book an airbnb, vacasa, etc in first year you get $200 off


- Both cards pay for TSA pre-check or global entry and have no foreign transaction fees

There's some other little nick knack stuff similar between the 2, but for $300 more a year the Venture X offers A LOT more than $300 of value which is what makes it so amazing. You get at least $400 more value just from the $300 annual travel credit and 10,000 annual bonus miles over the Venture card. I definitely see Cap one raising the annual fee on this card eventually. $495 wouldnt surprise me with the perks they are giving. At $395 frankly it's a steal/no brainer for anyone who even remotely travels a few times a year you pay/book.
