I’m adding some next week and averaging down on GOOG, VTI and QQQ. I got 20 years timeframe. Please let me know if I should wait.
I’m looking for folks who know their stuff. I for sure know very minimal

Google is down but could explode again anytime. I buy regularly every week. Some times I buy high some times I buy low but that has worked for me.
Take what you want to invest divide it by four and buy 1/4 this month, a1/4 next month, a 1/4 the following month, and then a 1/4 the month after that

If you are in it for the long term, hold the line. Stay with what has been working for your portfolio. Keep accumulating shares via your automatic investments/dividend reinvestments - mutual funds, ROTH IRAs, stocks, etc. We rode the down cycle in 07-08 with the housing mkt crash and with COVID in 20, and the value on the other side was considerably higher.
With that said, those who are using the money now - i.e. older age/retirees, 529 plan funds to pay for or assist with education costs or money for home downpayments - need to analyze their personal situations & risk thresholds.

I’m buying weekly in my 401k. It is a mix of DFA Large Cap, Vanguard Russell 1000, Fidelity 500, and CTAS.
Just funded my Roth for the year last week, and buying VGT monthly in my brokerage account. I’m also sending money to a money market monthly to back door my Roth for January next year.
I feel like it’s best for me to set up automatic buys vs trying to time the market a couple times a year. I’m also saving money in my HYSA that I will be able to use to buy if things get really bad.

I'm also doing auto investments every week that Vanguard manages for me apart from maxing my 401K. I'm sitting on cash and wondering if I should not deploy it right now. I'm hearing just try to average down on funds regularly

20 years to go, just keep making regular purchases of low cost broad index funds like VTI.
Don't waste your time trying to time the market

Im 40 and looking to buy a significant amount of TGT. It's trading at close to the 52 week low @ 103. Dividends are over 4%. Think this might be the right time to grab some shares.

I shuffled a little from my usfr stack to my voo stack this week, was exhilarating.

I was looking at TGT too…It’s also at 250 week lows, good luck. I decided to take my chances with UPS.

If you have 20 year time frame, the time to buy is now.
This same advice applied to every day in the history of the stock market. Not just today’s market context.

What about 12 to 15 years left?

I wouldn't worry if your time frame is 5+ years. If we are lower than here in 5+ years we've probably got bigger problems to worry about
I'm 47 and 100% stocks. I think I might still be 100% at 57. Granted, I do think the market is still overvalued and I won't be surprised if we go lower in the short term.

Mkt down +200 tonight.
I'd put some orders in $ 4 or$ 5 below the mkt in case we have some sort of rupture early.

I’ve been buying the last couple weeks.
~20k between back door and mega back door.
May not be the bottom, but history says if I don’t invest it right away, I forget. A year later I realize I have a cash balance and missed market gains. I have a 20 year horizon, so trying to time things over that time frame is splitting hairs.
All my purchases have been VTI / VO.

In same boat, every year I get scared and try to time it. I'm left with cash that I get interest from SOFI but would have better returns if I put in market esp considering that I don't need it right now. I'm pretty timid when it comes to investment
The sentiment that other OP suggested if market never goes past this in next few years, we have bigger problems on hand
