So I have a book worth of paper with names and amounts that I have to manually type in which takes hours.

I’ve tried Adobe and it doesn’t really work as some of the cells that’s have amounts are in different columns than the rest.

What is the best software that can read a scanned document and keep amounts all in one column?

Have you tried any of the AI tools? Grok helped me with some data and an excel file not long ago.

Which version? Reader wouldn't. I use "Adobe Acrobat Standard" (previously Pro) at work and convert charts with tables in formats like Word or .PDF all the time into Excel. It's considered the "standard" in the Enterprise world. Guess it would depend on how the original charts are laid out?

Other .pdf converters...

Hyland has a product named 'Brainware' that does what you're needing.

It may be out of your price point since I think they mostly sell to businesses, but may be worth looking into.
