Been looking into this Card and have seen good reviews. Here is a link to it LINK. No annual fee, no foreign transaction fees (but not widely accepted in other countries) and has the 5% rotating categories.
Anyone have this card or heard anything about it?
I currently have a Chase Freedom as my only credit card and am looking for another to help build credit (current score is 695). Other cards Ive looked at include: Capital one quicksilver (which i'm not sure I would quilify for), Capital one quicksivler one or Amex Blue Cash preffered.
Thanks in advance, and also willing to hear any other recommendations yall have.

Chase Sapphire Preferred. You already have rotating categories on your Freedom and you can transfer the Freedom UR points into the Sapphire Preferred bucket.

Granted I had Capital One as my starter card, but I qualified for it with a 704 score.

Agreed, But part of the reason I was looking into the Discover is because the rotating categories fall at different times.
Discover 2015:
Q1: Gas & Ground Transportation
Q2: Restaurants & Movies
Q3: Home improvement stores, department stores, Amazon.com
Q4: Holiday Shopping
Freedom 2015:
Q1: Grocery Stores
Q2: Resturants, Overstock.com
Q3: Gas Stations
Q4: Amazon.com
Some overlap and obviously some have already passed. But the big thing I like is that I could get 5% cash back on Amazon for 6 months.
And I don't think I would be approved for the Sapphire. Just out of college and Have less than a year of credit history.

Also, is it a bad idea to apply for a second credit card if I opened my first one less than a year ago?

The Discover IT is a great card. It was actually my first big boy credit card. The Discover Deals portal is awesome. The 5% holiday shopping category is even more robust than the Chase Freedom one. I wouldn’t hesitate to get it.
There’s really no negatives about it other than Discover not being as widely acceptable as other cards. I’ve only ran into that issue once and that was at a parking meter.
not at all

As long as you do not accrue interest, I see no problem with having the Discover it card. My first credit card was a secured card. The moment I got mail from Discover advertising the Discover it card, I took the opportunity. I've enjoyed it ever since, and they have not changed anything for the worse. When I first got the card, you had to have $50 in cash back rewards in order to use the amount. Now you can use any amount as you so choose.
Biggest disappoint is the category overlap by far when you have multiple cards with rotating categories

Agreed, but looks like it could be good in the case of Amazon and Gas Stations. At least for 2015, i'm not sure how much it changes year to year.
But thanks for your imput
