Offering to pay with a check, and I'm thinking it might be a scam.

Look up a local salvage yard a call a couple. They buy cars and are competitive. They’ll pick it up or you can drop it off.

Copart is probably the largest totaled car buyer in North Georgia.

Could be a scam elsewhere, but here it is pretty legit.

I've sold through carvana. They give me the check and paperwork at the house. Pick the vehicle up in the next 48 hours.

Yup, EZPZ. Wrote me a check, loaded it up, and drove off.

Yep. Showed up, put it on a truck, and cut a check. I just googled how to sell a junk car and it came up.

Prices were reasonable enough especially since I didn't have to get it towed, etc.
