We're working on quote for our homeowner insurance.

We've gotten quotes that both have the Agent of Record as SAGESURE Insurance Managers BUT the actual insurers are different: Elevate is one insurer and Surechoice underwriters reciprocal exchange (SURE) is the other.

The agent explained it as both insurers are the same company and they just have different books of record. Both are A rated.

Does that sound like I'm understand it correctly? We've considered just self insuring but if we are still getting quotes.

Neither is worth the paper it’s written on.

Insurance in general or with these two specifically?

Our only other options are LaCitizens for $7750 for wind/hail OR self insure, which may be what we should do.

Well we're split Citizen's for wind/hail; FB for fire theft. New premiums total ~$8300 for the year. Yeah it sucks.

These other two companies are almost half of that BUT it sounds too good to be true BUT Citizens' HAS to be more and it alone is ~7500 for wind/hail.

I guess if either company sucks, it can't suck as bad as paying what the new premium is.

The agent doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
SURE is a reciprocal exchange.
Read more here:

SURE was recently created as a more flexible carrier for coastal markets. They’re buying up areas right now, and I’m glad to have them in my carrier portfolio.

Edit: appears I don’t know what I’m talking about. Elevate is a reciprocal exchange offered exclusively through Goosehead agencies. Six one/half dozen in the other.

Demotech toilet paper. Sage closes one paper and switches out to another trash paper and keeps charging fees and making bank on servicing and sucking goose head cock while shitting in the local agents that have supported them for 15 years. fricking bitches

Yes I had forgotten that part .. he did tell me that. Should that cause any concern for the policy holder? Red flag?

It’s trash paper that will fold at next storm too. I’m not judging your lack of options. Reciprocal exchange, Unchartered waters a bit.

Are you an agent? I know there are some here and I can’t keep track of who is who.

What would you do? Citizens for $7500 (add fire/theft with FB for $750 so $8500 total or so) or what is more and seems seems like much better coverage with these people?

We’re tempted to self insure but I admit it’s scary.

2% .. $7500 or so for wind/hail and $2500 for other.

It’s a crap shoot either way and I detest giving my money to citizens for a worse policy coverage wise.

Tell us how you really feel…haha.

I have an agency in Gulf Shores, and we’re working on a “coastal” rater, that will have:
ASI
Swyfft
Sagesure
Orion
Orchid
Openly
SSIU
Etc

On them. Will cut shopping times by more than 300%. Holler if interested.

So can you tell me if the insurance manager is the same, if the actual name of the insurer matters?

This is Elevate through goose head which only they can write for as stated above.
