Thinking about taking the courses and my firm will pay 100% tuition as long as I get a B- or better... If not then it's $845/course out of my pocket.

It's been since 2008 since I took any major exam to further my career and I'm confortable with what i'm doing now, but I don't want anything to get too stagnate in the future. CFP would give it an extra boost...I believe.

TIA

Pretty easy, I've heard.

CFA exam is the bitch, and is only offered once a year.

From the looks of these courses it seems doable to me.

I'm just not sure about the time committment and exam itself

HS 328 Investments
HS 330 Fundamentals of Estate Planning
HS 326 Planning for Retirement Needs
HS 321 Income Taxation
HS 333 Personal Fin Plan: Comp Case

It's not easy as the other poster claims. Not impossible by any means.

It's just a shite load of information and requires the dedication to study through it all. The quantity of the content makes it difficult, not the concepts.

Its very difficult man. A lot of people begin taking the exam and never pass/finish. Is it doable? Of course. Is it easy? Hell no. An overwhelming amount of time, dedication and effort will go into studying and passing the CFP.

You need to dedicate at least 2 hours everyday for a year in order to pass. I have a friend who started to prepare once and realized how difficult it would be and put it off. Years later, he went for it again and passed but he put tons of time into it. Like the other poster said, it is the breadth of topics covered that make it difficult.

So you have a bunch of reverence material that you would normally use day to day but to pass the test you have to memorize it...sounds logical
