Helpful tip. Create an account at Quizlet.

You can create your own index cards and flip through them on your phone. Better yet if you search your class many times there are already stes made from previous sessions. I like to make sure that all of the terms are there though if I use one.

I agree!! I purposely scheduled Kungu because of the rave reviews, but so far I'm not impressed! I would love to know what criteria Turnitin uses to grade papers? What is the point of researching and citing if Turnitin is going to dock you for using them?
I don't necessarily mind the load of the writing required, but a little guidance on test prep would be extremely helpful!
I would have to disagree with the post that stated Kungu's class was only about 3 hrs worth of worK - more like 15+ hrs on my end, with all of the reading and researching!
Best of luck - 5 wks left!

Does anyone know if MADM 740, the international study just the 2 weeks in hong kong or is actually a 7 week course with it?
HI undkeith, I did the international immersion in Australia, and I'm sure the structure is the same.. It would be 2 weeks in Hong Kong vs a 7 week class. As you will have classes (guest speakers) daily, it works out to the same amount of hours as a 7-week class. Note that there are exams, papers, etc. to write while you are overseas. I really enjoyed it and made some great friends through the trip.

Any recommendations on ISDS 705 professor?
Looks like Lind and Gherfal are the 2 options for Fall AP1 session.
Thanks

Thanks cin8. I’ll check out an upgraded connection.
I spoke with the tech support at proctor u and they suggested using my phone as a hotspot.
Att international plan is only 10 bucks a day so i will be checking that out too when I get there to see what kind of speeds and reliability i can get.

Lind is quite a lot of work, including a group project requiring a paper and a video presentation. The class material is also all over the place. The actual material on the quizzes is straightforward, but last week and this week there's over 100 pages of reading. I work in IT/IS and truly enjoy it, and I find her class painful. On the positive side, she's extremely responsive to email (tho her syllabus says you shouldn't email her unless it's an emergency). There's lots of conflicting information, and my group is having problems even figuring out everything she wants in the group paper. There might be worse professors, but I would not recommend her.

I looked up previous pages and couldn't find any detailed reviews on Marketing with Imran Khan. Does anyone have any suggestions on who would be the best to take ISDS 705 with among Lind, Darban Mehdi or Gherfal Sam ? Do they all require group work ?
Lind definitely requires group work, and her organization isn't great.

I have used phone as hotspot 2 times with proctorio. First time it worked flawlessly, and the second time there were major problems. First time was in the middle of the night when there was probably low network demand. I would only recommend it as a backup.

Thanks!
I have my test scheduled for early morning. Perhaps I will make it even earlier just to be safe and ensure I get the best connection

Allow me to clarify, I said you could "get by" on 3-4 hours a week. Here was my strategy- read and memorize the chapter summaries only. I never read an entire chapter and I got at least a high B every exam (mostly A's). On the discussions, if you just meet the word count and include a couple of sources, you're golden. Same on the module assignments. I agree that Kungu wasn't the most engaged professor and I actually gave him feedback that he should include slides in his course. If you're going into this course expecting to learn a ton or for it to be enjoyable, I can see definitely see where this course falls short. However, after reading the reviews of the other professors who teach MADM 701, I felt like I hit the jackpot with Kungu. It's an easy A course and he allows late work. I agree the academic "coaches" are super lame though.

I got accepted today!
AP1 taking MADM 760 with Erin McLaughlin
AP2 ECON 701 with Fabio Ambrosio
These teachers had good reviews... Any first hand experience?

Hi Again Keith,
I passed Ambrosio's ACCT701 with 91%. He's perhaps the most engaged, well-prepared instructor in the program. The structure is straightforward, one test per week that's non-proctored, open notes, and take as many times as you like. You'll need to get 100% on all these tests. There is an end of week proctored, open-note, 12 questions, 1 attempt quiz. Professor prepares you for the test with video lectures, text reading, and zoom sessions. He's affable, approachable and a really cool guy in general.
My advice -- make every zoom session and actively participate. I had a couple of classmates that were very forward about asking what was/was not included in the test, and he would oblige when pressed. Same for the final -- he basically spoon-fed the comprehensive final to the class over Zoom. Without that little bit of extra assistance, I would have earned a B.
I've not seen a lot of feedback on McLaughlin...anyone else?

Rybo,
Thanks for the info on Ambrosio.
I went back and looked at this thread, looks like McLaughlin is liked by some and not so much by others. Good reviews on ratemyproffesor so I am going to let it ride...

I am thinking about signing up this fall. I have been in the business world for the past 10 years and am nervous about going back to school. I travel a lot for work so I thought I could do a lot of the work while traveling.
Some people are talking about proctored exams... do they require going to a testing center? I'm not sure if my work schedule would allow that or is it like an online proctor? Would I need computer with a webcam?
I plan on taking just 1 class per 7 week course. How feasible is this for someone working 50 hours a week plus traveling 15 hours per week (driving but can listen to lectures).
Any advice would help.
I just started this session, and what I've found (and what I thought would be the case) is that group projects are the toughest part. The proctored tests are remotely proctored, and that's actually a really nice setup - you don't have to go to a testing center. You do, however, have to have reliable internet. I've been on the road all three weeks of the session so far and I haven't had a problem with the tests I've taken. I'm taking two classes this session (ISDS 705 and ACCT 701), and ISDS 705 is such a large time commitment that I'm cutting back to one class per session starting next session. I'm an IT professional, but the group project is taking a lot of time. Accounting is pretty straightforward - open book/note test each week, with an open book final at the end. It only takes about 5 hours per week (though since it's my first accounting class, I did watch a few hours of accounting tutorials before starting the program.
Good luck!

A concentration requires the completion of three specific courses and a specialization requires two specific courses and an elective. The courses in your concentration or specialization are included your gpa. I completed my LSUS MBA with General area but I completed the required courses for the HR concentration and the project management specialization. All of my courses were not included in my gpa. Upon completion of each of the two project management courses that I took, I was able to take and pass the CAPM and CLP certification exams. Yesterday I had my first interview for a program manager for training and development job which combines the hr and project management knowledge.

Alum2019 - can you clarify how some of the classes do not count toward your GPA? Did you get your letter saying you have the concentration and specialization? I am following your same track.

Who are you taking ISDS 705 with if I may ask with the large time commitment? thanks. I plan on taking it with Gibbs as that's the forum's consensus.
