they like to have "rallies" I know that..fills up the parking lot in my office building when they do those darn things. I don't know anything other than that about them although my cousin's wife claims it's a scam. Of course she thinks Obama is a terrorist but maybe she is right about the scam deal.

I don't know what the deal is with this company, but I've heard nothing but bad and shady things about it.

Collis Temple III is in the Primerica company. He seems to be doing well.
I work with someone who does it part time. I know people who have had their free financial needs analysis done and were happy.
I haven't done the FNA yet, but I've been thinking about it. It's free, so all I have to do is say NO to any pressure sales, right?

I believe Doug Planchard is in it also.

I honestly don't know much about it, but get the impession it is an Amway type pyramidish organization that sells financial products instead of soap and corn flakes.

I got this same impression as well.

The one guy I knew that worked for them kept trying to get me on with the company and to go to their seminars and shite. Dude used to swear by the company and their services. He quit after 6 months.

I did this back in the early 00's and it was very brief. It is a pyramid scheme. What you do is you call all of the people you know to offer term life insurance. Once you offer that, then pass it on to someone else to offer investing advice on mutual funds. Their premise is that most people don't have life insurance or have whole life, which is more expensive, so they offer term and then suggest to take the additional funds you were spending on whole life to invest in mutual funds. It is a good idea, but frankly I got tired of bugging my family and friends, so I got out.

I agree with this also.

However, does Primerica sell load mutual funds in addition to term insurance. If so you are paying a fee (3-5%) for funds that with 15 minutes of research you could get funds with no fee that are as good as or better.

I think the "product" they sell is spot on - term life and invest the difference.

I think their marketing is whacked out - they use the "network marketing" scheme to market - not that it's terrible, but not what I would want to be selling.

i'm in the system and am waiting on taking my la ins exam. its not a hard job, just takes time. with the business i already run, its hard to make time for primerica. all in all i do believe this company is legit. just takes time and patience to build yourself up.

Where should I begin? I was involved in Primerica for maybe 1 year. It is a legit company; however, it was not for me. There are several things I liked about it and several things I did not like. The people that are successful in this business really work hard at building their business. It's hard work. Some try to get you into the business by telling you it's fun and you work your own hours, you are your own boss, blah, blah, blah. But in my experience, it's a tough job and it's not for everyone. I could go on and on but there's too much to talk about. I used to think Primerica was all that...but not anymore.

remember Bill Whittle of LSU BB fame/ He is one of the top dogs in BTR in Prime America and yes it was A.L. Williams a multi level insurance marketing group

It is not a pyramid scheme as pyramid schemes are illegal-- multi level marketing is a different animal often mistaked for pyramiding

The message (term life & invest the rest) is a good one. The commission structure of it is not as good as other insurance sales jobs. Their basic premise is that a fortune can be made by signing up tons of salesman with no guaranteed money who will sell to themselves and their immediate circle.

Need to read the details on the system if you choose it. For instance, Whittle signed up Bubba Alexander several years back. Bubba signed up Abram Booty. Bill strongly encouraged Bubba to put all new customers &/or recruits under Abram's tree; that way both he and Abram would benefit from the sale. Bubba complied.

Bubba did very well in the business, eventually making the mythical RVP. Only one problem... 90% of his business was under the Abram tree at this point, and the fine print (which he had never read before this time) entitled Whittle to choose any one tree of business and take it from Bubba (thus Whittle making that tree his own).

Whittle, a self proclaimed millionaire, could have selected any income tree he wanted from Bubba. He, of course, chose the Abram Booty tree. Bubba went from making a very good living to the brink of bankruptcy. Bubba eventually rebounded. But my point is be wise going into this, if you choose it.

So how long was Whittle in the hospital after Bubba kicked his arse?
