Rumor. Sasol US around LC to be acquired by Westlake Chemical.

Word on the street announcement could come Tuesday.
Parts of Sasol would be sold to pay down their enormous debt keeping the stock around $4.
This could provide a big jump as Sasols comparisons evaluations put the stock at 12-18.
Kept low due to the debt to income.
Might be a good short term investment.

I rode it a few years ago from 1.30 to 13...
If there debt was right they would be at 12 imo.
I've had it on my list for years. Been waiting for entry. I feel like 4 is bottom.
I went in earlier today for shares. Well see I guess. I won't be holding though. If it pops I'll set a trailing stop on the way up.

Yes. That was for the new giagant expansion.
This is for the existing sasol.
Westlake Chemical already has the old georgia gulf vinyl facility in the middle of old sasol.
They want to pick up the ethylene unit a stone throw away as well as the upstream feedstock.

I thought the same thing. In the last year SSL is down 45% and WLK is only down 35%.
If the rumor is true, I assume SSL bounces on the news and WLK drops?

Word around the plants is that there is a big meeting with the managers on their site today. Nobody knows about what, but the WL rumors are flying around town like crazy. For the record I do NOT know anything for a fact other than this meeting is happening or already has happened this afternoon.

There has been no action in the options market and they usually sniff this stuff out. If we start seeing calls being bought on SSL then that would be a sign

I agree. Option volume is near zero.
Also, I haven't heard anything about the meeting from yesterday. Rumors still flying across all levels within my company but nothing new.

Maybe, maybe not..
Not a good sign if true. I’ve heard rumors from both WL and Sasol folks. Both sides admitting they don’t know much more than there has been talks and visits. Still haven’t heard anything about “this meeting” from yesterday.
