Im so down and kicking myself because Im afraid this is the new floor and its going up from here.

Please make me feel better. FYI im 43 so these are long holds.

If it’s going up from here just buy when you can. Pretty simple.

this is still "low" and one solid afternoon session doesnt eliminate bearish concerns.

you are likely too emotional to be dealing in this, fwiw.

If you really believe this, what exactly is the problem again?

Still good gains that can be made to get back to where we were earlier in the year/end of last year.

Plus, think how many more gains you ca make over the next 20-30 years. Why would you kick yourself because you didn't 100% optimize one day?

You buy as the market goes down. You can’t call the top and you can’t call the bottom.

You’re young, these market events happen all the time. Keep a little dry powder for the next one and apply this lesson learned. Don’t panic sell at the next drop. The market recovers, every time.

We sold 12% of our entire portfolio over the course of the day. It’s not an insignificant amount. If the balance of our portfolio rips and all our new cash does is generate 4% then I’ll be a very happy donkey.

As for your future trading:

Any particular reason why? Are you close to retiring?

In my early 40s.

We had a healthy cash pile that has been moved into real estate over the last 6 months.

So a general desire to generate cash and a belief we are not at the bottom of this.

This is the first time in some 20 years I’ve ever sold a large chunk just to convert to cash without a clear next investment.

I just trust the equity markets right now.

I think the market reacted today to news Trump still responds to outside pressure. But there are still 100% reciprocal tariffs on the two largest economies in the world. I believe the markets have further to sink from here.

You buy as it goes up too - I think some forget that.
