the haters DEFINTELY arent going to like this round of manipulation

LINK

quote:

Speaking in the Oval Office, President Trump suggested that his high tariffs against China were ultimately a temporary negotiating tactic to strike a trade deal, rather than a longer-term trade policy. But, he added, some sort of tariff on Chinese products would remain even after any agreement between the two countries.

“145 percent is very high. And it won’t be that high,” Trump said. “It will come down substantially. It will not be zero.”

apparently that link is paywalled, and this statement along with him saying hes not going to fire Powell caused the spike in AH trading

I'm still down a lot from the highs but I haven't sold a thing. I've been in the market long enough to have seen several shite downturns besides Covid.

Yeah anyone with a brain knew this was a negotiation tactic but this makes Trump look dumb by immediately backing down

What I need spelled out for me, I guess, is what was the tactical gain from this "temporary negotiating tactic"?

Ummm... the stock market is more likely excited that Trump said he's not going to try and fire Powell.

Trump one was chaos. Trump two has unsurprisingly been more of the same.

Dudes that were salivating about making money off of shitty TSLA earnings just got punked.

Has he though? Him reiterating that they will go down if they negotiated better trade deals is the same position he has had all along. I’m failing to see what in that statement is different that his position he has had for the last month.

Just this morning some of the most prominent maga posters on PT were talking about how 245% is just the beginning and we need to destroy the chinese economy. Many agreed that we need to do everything we can to stoke a chinese civil war.

Okay? Not sure how you think that is a refute to my comment. Would you not agree it is shocking they need it spelled out for them as much as the chicken littles on the other side?
