Ok, I need advice on this. I'm usually a Hilton/Hyatt guy but I've decided to try to go the Starwood route for Disney trip with the family in April. We plan to stay a week at the Dolphin or Swan. My questions are...

What's the difference between the two hotels?

What's the best route to achieve this? I'll be flying out of N.O. and I have flights taken care of through SW. I have 250K UR points available. I will probably sign up for the AMEX SPG soon.

Do you get the 5th night free on award stays with SPG? I have no status with chain.

Thanks

You might get more replies if you post this thread on the Travel Board. There are several regular posters on that board who know quite a bit about Disney.

Yah, I was considering that but I also want the credit card rewards/manufacture spend aspect as well. I'll go ahead and post over there also.

Yes, you get the 5th night free on points or cash. I think it's like 40,000 for a Cat 4 and 48,000 for a Cat 5 for 5 nights. You get 25,000 from the SPG Amex for signing up plus the spend so you should be at 30,000 SPG in no time. Don't know the hotels personally but I would say you're going to be fine either way. Westin is usually nicer but I've heard those are both nice and the Sheraton Dolphin is maybe better for kids.
