When was it acceptable to see your wealth shift

2%+ daily basis? I don’t think the founding fathers of investments had this in mind when creating stocks. This is diversified too, imagine shifting 5+% on individual stocks.

Break-neck.
Placed an order to harvest small tax loss (MF) couple wks ago when market tanked to instead realize rather nice gain the next day. Net, net am better for it, however break-neck turbulence have me now sitting on hands.

If you’re gonna make weekly threads about market movements then just stay in money market funds my dude. Not worth your sanity.

Good time to sink in more capital if you got it
If you don’t then you bought high

if you cant handle it, then i suggest Treasury Direct
LINK
not being facetious, a lot of people cant/dont want to handle the stock market
i think this is exactly what they had in mind, when creating stocks

I don’t think the value of investments are meant to be looked at daily.

What a shitty thread. Would you start this thread if your wealth shifted 2% in your favor?

I hope it stays down for a year so I can buy as much as I can over that time. I'm buying every time I can squeeze a dollar out of anything

Were you in equities last July (2024)? Because you weren't making daily/weekly threads about that dip.
FFS, the S&P was at an ALL TIME HIGH on Valentine's day. Even with these dips, still up 2% over the past 12 months. It's only down as much as it is, on paper, because of (and folks were warned) this hugely overbought condition we found ourselves at the beginning of the year.
Average down or STFU, with all due respect.

My brother, when the founders walked the earth, your investments would routinely turn to worthless paper overnight, yet you wouldn’t find out you were ruined for days or weeks

The same people downvoting you would be melting if this happened under Biden. I voted for Trump 3 times but don’t have TDS so bad that I can’t see he is royally f*cking this up. This is going to hurt a lot of people. And no end in sight. It it’s got a really bad feel to it.

It happens all the time. Like in market history it happens about 17 times per year - you can basically expect 3 of them every 2 months.
