WSJ: WH likely to switch to tiered approach to Chinese tariffs. Overall reduction to 65%

One senior White House official said the China tariffs were likely to come down to between roughly 50% and 65%. The administration is also considering a tiered approach similar to the one proposed by the House committee on China late last year: 35% levies for items the U.S. deems not a threat to national security, and at least 100% for items deemed as strategic to America’s interest, some of the people said. The bill proposed phasing in those levies over five years.

Five years... Interesting... Just long enough to where the real numbers are after he is out of office.
Wonder if they are trying to factor this in their long term tax cut plans.
Even though the next president will more than likely kill these

Is the money board where all the libtards hide? I'm starting to think so, and I'm starting to see why such terrible advice is given on the money board. Downvote away bitches

My understanding is in order for tariff revenue to be factored into a reconciliation bill for tax cuts, the tariffs have to be adopted by Congress.
So if that is the goal would make sense to go back and pick up a recent congressional plan.

Did Navarro go to sleep?

WSJ put out an article last Friday detailing how, on April 9, while Navarro was in another meeting, Bessent and Lutnick rushed into the Oval Office to persuade Trump to put a 90-day pause on the tariffs and consider a different pathway forward. Without Navarro in the room pushing back, they were successful in getting him to change his mind.

The money board is where people with actual stake in the game try to maximize their investments, and it doesn't really care whether you're red or blue.
Scoot back off to the Poli board so you can massage your fragile ego again inside your echo chamber

So they tier theirs towards us to hurt us equally or more.
Many people in the US think in this war we are the only ones that can fire

Big Retail CEOs calling President to privately share what is about to happen to America’s retail shelves (astronomical prices or empty)…teaching Econ 2001, 3001, and 4231 finally to Leader of Free world.

A bit premature. Hasn’t been enjoyable to my portfolio in the short term, but if done right, it could be beneficial in the long-term.
Ultimately, this is how negotiations work and whether it’s a clown show will depend on the final deal he gets
