Been on it since 2017. Someone from the LSU crypto telegram group back in the day got me started. Even when I’ve tried to leave it I always go back.

Don’t want to get hijack, but has anyone used co-pilot and how does it compare to other popular apps (mint, ynab, etc)?

I've used it since 2015. There can be a slight learning curve but nothing drastic. I like how it gives freedom to move money around after you assign it. Auto movement for CCs and you can set up your mortgage to auto calc PITI assignments. Much more. I like it. Wife had Dave Ramsey's app for a bit and it was trash imo, expensive and limited in functionality. Mint no longer operates.

I've been using YNAB since ~2005 when it was in spreadsheet form. (Yes, I am old :)). I've tried other programs but nothing beats YNAB depending on your financial goals.
What are you trying to achieve with YNAB?

Monarch is pretty awesome. I’ve used Mint in the past, then tried YNAB and it’s solid too. I recently switched to Monarch and it’s much slicker than YNAB. It does a lot of categorizing for you and you can create rules moving forward to make everything a lot more automated. So that you don’t have to manually categorize every transaction; it’ll do a lot for you.
They also are running a promo code MINT50 to give you 50% off the first year. Normally it’s $99. Knocks it down to $49.

Ever have issues with accounts syncing at Monarch? I’m trying it out, but it’s not working well with my bank at the moment. I think it may be an issue on my bank’s end, but not sure yet.

Yeah I remember on initial setup adding my accounts I had a couple that didn’t want to sync for some reason, but I tried again the following day and they did sync and haven’t had any hiccups other than that at the beginning.

I'm on day 2 of using Monarch Money and I've been impressed with the ability to connect accounts so you can see your net worth, categorize your spend, see recurring costs, etc. I haven't gotten to the budgeting part yet.

I'm trying to use it for budgeting to help where my money is going. I'm more concerned to show my family that every penny adds up.

Does it handle uploading a store bill like Target as credit cards don't care about the itemized billing?
If my family spent 200$ at target and I cannot handle the itemization, there is no way for me to tell if 200$ is junk food or something we need.

The situation you describe is not something that I worry about. I get what you're saying, but if you think money is being spent improperly, you should address that directly with yourself or your spouse. The software doesn't mediate family disagreements.

I have used it since 2011. I think it is a significant reason why I have a healthy marriage.

It certainly won't do it automatically.

You either get an email receipt from the retailer or keep you physical receipt - YNAB will let you split the transaction if you know what goes where.

I used YNAB for a year and loved it. Then, for whatever reason, I got out of the habit of giving it a daily "touch-up" to keep things in order. Missed a month. Went back and spent more time than I liked to get it smoothed out again.
That happened a couple of times and it just turned into more effort than I was willing to deal with. So, I cancelled it.
Totally MY fault and not YNAB's!
I'm thinking about trying it again, but going to look at Monarch Money this weekend, as this thread is the first I've heard about it. Website looks nice and a 7-day free trial, plus coupon code, definitely piques my curiosity.
I can tell you that my finances were cleaner and in better shape with YNAB than without. You just have to put in a lil work, no matter how automated it can be. It IS your finances.
