I don't see that happening.
The separation will happen when one of the other "contenders" forces the issue and one of them drops.

I think it will be team orders for Froome unless he cracks. The Pyrenies will tell us if Sky let’s them fight, but I doubt they do.

The only way Contador beat Armstrong that year with Discovery was he rode the ITT of his life and beat Armstrong in it. With Astana they were all in for Contador. Radio Shack was Armstrong being a soldier.

Round about in a mountain climb? Wow that climb by Thomas. But Froome has this thing under lock unless he crashes or mechanical.

this sucks for Nieve

had a 16 second lead at 1K to go and didn't even get a time bonus

and how much of a to Froome did Dumolin give by nipping Froome at the line and getting those 2 extra seconds for the time bonus

ETA: in the last K... Nieve lost 38 seconds to Thomas

Not much of a frick you, but he rode well today... Well expect when he did all the work for Thomas to get the stage win.

I hate Sky because of Wiggins and Froome

Froome pisses me off more than Indurain ever did. Van Avermant is going to be the new Voekler. Rides his balls off defends the Yellow like a warrior and won’t be talked about again. He made this stage by the ride yesterday.

still... I'm sure there was a little something more in that push than just "I gotta get this 1 extra spot"

Watching Sky slowly choke the life out of this group of mountain goats is something to behold. They’re driving them into the ground and they can’t match G and C when the time comes to go

I think the team effect is overstated. Thomas and Froome had to ride that same grueling pace that their team set just like the other contenders did. Yet they still had the legs to go and the other guys didn’t. Thomas and Froome are just that much better regardless of team.

Yeah, the GC field is full of pretenders.

Uran gets dropped the first day in the mountains? "Well, he wrecked on the cobbles..."

Yates gets dropped on day two and his manager is blaming the heat and already saying "hopefully we don't lose too much time tomorrow."

Valverde rides his arse off so Landa and Quintana can sit with their dicks in their hands and watch their 2 biggest challengers ride away.

Doumoulin solos out into third, but will he have the energy to keep up today?

Bardet is ragged, you could tell his legs were absolute jelly; I expect him to get dropped today.

At no point would G have ridden with Dumoulin so he has to do all the work

Not in Sky’s case. They have 2-4 true contenders on that squad. And, they can actually control the peloton ticking off the climbs and soldiers one by one until it counts. Yes the pace is the same for the team but there is still serious advantages to having someone set the pace.

If he gets to Dutch Corner solo there may be an earthquake of orange-clad drunks

Guess they’re not allowing sprinters to hang onto cars.
