The longer it takes for Suarez to sign an extension, the more it looks like he is out.

I’d love to see Montoya come back and do a race, he’d become my favorite driver when he was running and that penalty on him at Indy that cost him a sure win was the biggest ripoff ever.

Unlike a lot of the "outsiders" who basically were lost in NASCAR aside from the restrictor plate tracks which are basically a crapshoot, Juan Pablo had some good runs everywhere, Bristol. Martinsville, Charlotte, Atlanta, Pocono, Dover, Darlington. Guy could wheel a race car, just couldn't catch a break on the ovals, plus I always thought he and another "outsider" who tried NASCAR, Boris Said, were two of the coolest MF's around.

Yeah, I think Juan Pablo's resume speaks for itself. Probably some residual butt hurt with people over the fact that he wasn't a good ol' boy although there ain't any good ol' boys left in this stuff anymore, most of them are from the Midwest and West.

Comments like the one you guffawed at make me hope if JP is driving No. 50 he'll go win hell out of Watkins Glen.

Montoya and Kurt Busch were arguably the best wheelman in NASCAR history.

Juan figured out stock cars in less than a year. That speaks volumes. Him and Ambrose would have stuck around longer if not held back by mediocre teams.

Juan in early 2010s Penske would’ve been lethal. Maybe not Keselowski lethal, but would’ve been fun to watch.

Montoya by the time he hung it up could be considered one of the best racers ever. Given his diverse background.

I remember this being rumored after Spire signed the deal with Gainbridge.

With all of Spire's moves this year, it feels like they're getting ready to sell to Andretti.

Let me clarify. He was not a good cup series NASCAR driver.

Total starts 255
Wins 2
Top 5 - 24
Top 10 - 59
Total Laps 72,532
Laps led 1,124
Average start 17.9
Average Finish 19.8

His stats don’t indicate he was a good wheelman and certainly doesn’t put him in the same category of Kurt Busch.

You've just described a pretty good 21st century Cup career ...

I'm pumped ... I would love it, LOVE IT, if he went out there and had a good run.

Good news: NASCAR is back this weekend.

Bad News:
1. The race is at Richmond.
2. The remnants of Hurricane Debby could create rain issues.

Looks like it would be the Clash? No, I would not be up for that.

I would however, and hear me out, be up for a shootout style race at Daytona on the weekend before the 500, where we get the elite drivers from the previous season, throw them in a limited field and run a nice little 40 lap race that pays $1,000,000 to the winner.

Insane, I know.
